So, good and bad with everything... it's a great layout. It's a little tight in spots, (3 and 6), sometimes you need to hit your target, (3 and 8) sometimes you really REALLY need to think about where you DO NOT want to be, (the rest of them). You might need a draw off the tee sometimes, other holes you have to fade it. The approach shot variety is a little lacking wrt club selection, but the difficulty of those approach shots makes up for it.
For instance, hit it "too far" on 1 and you have a downhill lie for your approach on the very first hole. Don't hit it far enough on 2 and you've got to fade it around trees from an uphill lie. It doesn't matter how far you hit it on 5, you'll have an uphill lie on your approach. See what I mean? And yes, I suppose that effects club selection to some extent...
Pace of play isn't really a problem either. I've played single there a lot and typically either joined the group in front of was allowed to play through. It's rare that you have to play more than one ball to keep yourself occupied. The players there are friendly and polite, in general.
Now, if those same folks could learn to fix their ballmarks + 2 more and replace divots, we'd really and seriously be getting somewhere. I'm not sure how you Homer Simpsons can simply walk by a ball mark that could cradle a softball without fixing it. Maybe you don't know how... Google it or something. I prefer the single tong, lift the middle technique. You won't even know it was there.
I've never had an issue with the staff. Quite the opposite really. But I did read Darion's review. And I'd like to know what happens if (God Forbid) one of your kids falls off the cart and gets hurt. Are you going to sue the course for allowing too many people in a cart? Or are you going to realize the choice to overload the cart was yours and accept the responsibility? They have to assume the former, worst case since they might be right. Sadly, that is the way of things, but if you don't cover yourself from obvious lawsuits then we'd lose an awesome little course because???
But I digress. My apologies.
The greens are almost always in great shape, not counting the ballmarks. (They get fixed at the end of the day making mornings a great time to play.) They roll pretty well, but maybe a little slow. There are a lot of trees competing for sunlight, and the tee boxes show it. But the greens are mostly in good shape, except for the couple that see a lot of shade. Trees are the enemy, Bedrock management. And yes, I'll help, and I won't sue you if I get hurt.
The place can get a little weird if it rains a lot. It's drainage is ok, but can't keep up with a deluge. That's hardly a criticism, by the way.
And it's around $20 ($25?) for 9 walking. And it's a pretty easy to walk it.
So, a great course at a very good rate that you can walk. I highly recommend it.
