Do not listen to the past reviews, I got the scoop. 2 years ago, the course was subject to a heavy drought - grass got burned, conditions were bad, and everything became cart path only. They were trucking in water. I played on a 93 degree thursday. The course was exquisite. The layout is enjoyable and scenic. The greens were in pristine condition, as were all fairways, and all tee boxes. The course is challenging, but fair, presenting fun risk/reward decisions and packing a solid yardage punch. My only complaint is that the course has remained cart path only since the drought. While I understand that the incredible conditions are partly due to this, the inconvenience of this can tip the scale in favor of choosing another course. Very minor, but the clubhouse and pro shop buildings are very tired. An influx in funding would easily transform this place into a coveted round. However, I will most definitely be returning. The value was great, and it is difficult to find conditions this good elsewhere. With capital improvements, perhaps around paving the cart paths and fixing scatter areas, this place could become a $110 round in no time.

The golf course was very nice and in great condition. Played fast except for a twosome that jumped in front of us on 10 . Nice greens and pretty fast. Clubhouse bar has potential, but is kinda dead.

It's a shame what this once sought after course has become over the last 20 years. The driveway is in shambles, the buildings are falling apart, it's just depressing all around. The incessant reminders from the staff and signs everywhere for "Cart Path Only" is exhausting, almost infuriating. Every golf course in the world allows golf carts, I don't why there's a buy-in that it's normal to be "Cart Path Only" for all 18 holes at Pembroke. I specifically called to make sure carts were available in the morning, they conveniently failed to mention "Cart Path Only" then. It's all so.....odd. To the actual golf. We paid $45 each for 9 holes with a Cart. That's more than most, if not all, public courses around here. Fairways are beat up (but don't drive on them!). A lot of fungus and dead spots. Same on the greens. The cart paths are just terrible. For some reason most of the tee boxes seem to be pretty good. It's really depressing all around. I'll be rooting for a comeback. The location is great, it was once really nice, and the layout is fun and challenging. To the idea that this place could be great again, my friend said to me "I dunno man....I think the Earth decided to take this place back". Basically just don't golf here. Even if it's the only place around that has last minute available tee times (the mistake we made). We did end up having a lot of laughs, the place provides plenty of ammo for jokes.

I’ll start it by saying charging 90 dollars to walk is absolutely insane. Also to charge 90 dollars for this course in general is laughable. The greens aren’t even in prime condition, there are divots and beaver marks all over the place. The only good thing about it was the starter Ned. I got the “it’s Saturday that’s why it’s 90”, It’s actually a Monday. Anyway I’ll never play this overrated course again.

Nice course. Fast greens, a bit challenging, but not overly so (as a high handicapper). Some pretty rough areas, even (or especially) on some parts of the fairway with the drought, but still a decent looking course. Can't beat the 30 dollar all you can play in the evenings.
