Absolutely sensational. Fairways were stunning. Greens were running at about a 12.5 but still manageable. The views from most tee boxes were breathtaking. Some of Bostons best.

I have been playing here for my entire golf life (35+ years) and I can say with great certainty: I'm finished with this course. I've had many issues over the years with "members" here (don't get me started on membership at a muni...) and management's response to those issues. Like many of the one star reviews; the course should not be sending people off the back 9 at 6AM if they are going to allow members to do as they please. I made a 6am tee time to play 9 holes and as we hit hole 14, a group of 4 walkers coming off the front cut in front of us. Not a word to us asking if this was OK, and then they had the balls to thank us as they walked off the tee box. We did the right thing and told the starter. He said he would talk to them after they finished. What? This wouldn't be a problem on a Wednesday in October, but on Father's day Sunday???? So we took matters into our own hands and spoke (very respectfully) to the group and let them know that they needed to stop play and we were playing through. They didn't like this and got very agitated, telling us they were members and they do this all the time and they are faster than us. Objectively: everything they said was wildly rude, entitled and not based on anything even resembling golf etiquette. (I am a single digit hcp and a life-long golfer) We ended up waiting on every. single. hole. After they cut. Last straw for me in a loooooong line of transgressions at this place

I was very, very disappointed with this course. If you are an adult and/or serious about golf whatsoever, do not play here. Overpriced, clientele does not know how to act, course is a mess. Over $70 for a full 18 with a cart is ridiculous when you are teeing off on the fairway on some holes. The greens are in unacceptable condition. The actual course layout is not pleasing to play. With the fairways sloped at a 45 degree angle and the ridiculous greens, good play is not rewarded. I have played many municipal courses, and I would rather play any single one of those again instead of here. The greens actually looked like Falluja, there’s no working with that. There are no valid excuses for the terrible experience that is Newton Commonwealth Golf Course. I would advise anyone to spend their time elsewhere.

It was a beautiful 70° day, but unfortunately the experience at this course didn’t match the weather. We even started 10 minutes behind schedule, which set the tone for the rest of the round. This course is simply too tight for 10-minute tee times, especially with four par 3s on the front nine, including two back-to-back, which created backups almost immediately. The course was completely overcrowded, and it felt like management was cramming as many groups onto the course as possible without properly monitoring pace of play. The greens were also in rough shape and clearly not being maintained the way they should be. We had a foursome ahead of us playing double balls, which slowed things down even more, and another group in front of them taking eight shots before even reaching the green. While those specific players aren’t necessarily the course’s fault, it absolutely is the course’s responsibility to manage the flow and enforce pace-of-play rules. A round that should’ve been enjoyable turned into an extremely frustrating and painfully slow day on the course, we ended up stopping after nine holes our choice, of course but we were already 2 1/2 hours in. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this course unless management starts taking better care of both the conditions and the pace of play.

Played Newton Comm today. Course is in excellent shape. I also want to say. A year ago I put up a post that was not right, and I feel bad about it.I said that I've been allowed to take my own cart at different courses. But this year I've played a couple different courses & I have had to drive with another player. So I want to shout out an apology to Albie. I was wrong.
