I have traveled the United States and played many, many different country clubs, North, South, Midwest, and more than a few in California and the Western United States. I played here in July 2025 for the first time and found it to be one of the most beautiful and challenging and delightful layouts of any I have played. The staff was wonderful, the food was very good, the service was impeccable, and the golf was extraordinary. So many memorable holes and so beautiful.

I had a bat mitzvah party here for my cousins. For a party venue it was 10000/10! So much fun! I obvi can’t speak to the golf or anything like that but as a place to hold celebrations like that it is perfect!

Recently the state of Massachusetts passed a law requiring towns to increase the zoning for affordable housing. Marblehead is a wealthy town and does not want that to happen so they are trying to add this golf course and re zone it framed as housing on paperwork so they can avoid actually building more affordable housing for all instead of just the wealthy. The most important thing you should know about this is that living on or near a golf course within one mile increases your odds of getting Parkinson’s by 126% / 2.2 times more likely to get it if they do decide to build on this land. But it looks like they plan on doing absolutely nothing to help their community. This is America…. Look I will level with you about change and growth is hard. Watching beautiful land get taken up more and more by cheaply built housing and apartments is tough. It’s even more hurtful to watch visitors and humans destroy the beautiful things they are given in life. Affordable housing might have its risks or people that will always be there to take advantage. But we have to welcome new community members open arms and continue to grow and change even when it is uncomfortable because it is inevitable. And ALL you need to do is do better at regulating and focusing on the more important or preventative issues and being a real member and friend in your community to those different than you so you can learn about them and they can learn about you and you can help put your own time and money into the future you want to see instead of voting and waiting on someone else to do it. And affordable housing is for everyone now. It could be you next. God will humble you. There ARE solutions to make everyone happy. FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS NOT PROBLEMS. We just have to fight harder. And get more educated. I know it’s a drag and we are all busy but we need some sort of revolution before we are all homeless or ☠️ from toxins.
