I played Shaker Hill at 11:00 today, and this is honestly one of the best courses I’ve ever played. From the moment I walked into the Pro Shop, Jeff set the tone — hands down the best Pro Shop employee I’ve ever met. The guy knows how to make you feel like a member the second you walk in. The starter was great too — didn’t catch his name because we were too busy laughing, but he added to the whole experience. The practice facilities are top‑notch. The driving range is perfect for getting loose, and the warm‑up greens roll beautifully and really get you dialed in before the round. Huge shoutout to the maintenance crew. You guys crushed it. The course is in absolute tip‑top shape right now. Thank you for an awesome day. And if anyone finds a TaylorMade R7 4‑iron on Hole 8… let me know. I need an excuse to come back and play again.

This is my first and maybe only google review ever, so Shaker Hills deserves everyone’s attention. I’ve been to shaker hills for the better half of 5-6 years now, and it’s incredibly challenging to find a well manicured public course with fantastic staff that have always been consistent. Though the course is pricey for a MA public during peak season, but they do a great job and discounting different tee times throughout the day. They also have been very reasonable with “curfew” policies for cart return late in the day. One last thing that should feel welcoming for any golfer is going above and beyond: I was going to be late for a teatime, so I tried paying through their app three or four times and the payments said they were not successful. They told me from the app to call the pro shop to pay. Nothing crazy except I saw 5 charges for $56 show up on my credit card statement, and followed with Jeff in the pro shop. Genuinely delightful staff that are willing to help and provide clear feedback with issues. I’ll leave this short story off with an email I received from the GM.(for context-I called about the issue at 1 PM and received a email confirmation and a call in follow up with a clear and thoughtful resolution. This was three hours after my call the same day. Please see the verbatim email from Andy: “Hi Alex, Hope you’re doing well! I wanted to let you know we discovered a glitch in the App / POS earlier today that charged your card when you did the self-check in on 4/9 on multiple attempts. Your payment did not flow thru to our POS or Tee Sheet and you were charged again in the golf shop. I have found the original charges on the credit card processor side and issued a refund for the $XX overpayment today and wanted to let you know. The self-check-in has been disabled on the App until it is fixed. Please reach out with any questions. Thanks, Andy” Icing on the cake, they also issued a rain check.voucher for my difficultly and patience with things. The course itself: The pictures were from fall golf in 2022, and the course looks great every time I’m back. Lightning fast greens when they’re firm, challenging slopes and undulation, and demanding tee shots where accuracy and shot shaping comes into play. Course is manicured really well along the fairways and greens. Only challenge during the fall is finding your ball when the leaves are down. Tee boxes are top tier amongst public courses in MA and stacks up with private clubs. Overall 10/10 public course for most desired check lift items.

Course was in excellent condition. Greens rolled fast and true. It’s a very hilly course and atleast half of the fairways are roped off which led to a lot of walking. It would’ve been a more enjoyable experience if there was a 90 degree allowance

Played Monday 6/8. Course beat me up but unreal experience. Left my rangefinder clipped to the cart for the 4th time (friendly reminder to take your range finders!!!) Contacted the pro shop where PJ who came in CLUTCH, was able to assist me in the return of this item. As I live far away I was able to work out a plan to get this mailed to me. In reality I should’ve just returned to play and pick up my rangefinder but I’ll just come back anyways. 10/10 would recommend!

The best Public course in all of Massachusetts. Make sure you get there early to enjoy the amazing chipping Green. Also, the driving range balls being included in the Green fees is a big plus. Highly recommend.
