During the winter, excellent sledding! 2 hills, easy parking - kids love it!

Course is in good shape- greens are fast and the pins are tough. Wide open front 9 and the back 9 is tight with elevated greens. Overall a fun course with plenty of scoring opportunities. 19th grille is well stocked with friendly staff serving cold drinks and hot food. Recommended for players with some experience but nothing too difficult.

Very disappointing. Last time I played here was 10 years ago - and I thought it was decent (like a 4 star). I happened to be in the area today with my manager (who flew in from Philly) so thought we'd play here. Way overpriced for a course that's pretty short and has terrible fairways (having to move the ball to put it on a few blades of grass). There are other courses within 30 minutes that are a lot better.

I wouldn't describe this course as "all skill level friendly." Our group of four was repeatedly pressured to play faster because a twosome behind us was moving more quickly. Even after two people in our group stopped playing to help with pace, the pair behind continued hitting into us before we were out of range. Being rushed while also having golfers tee off into our group made for a frustrating and uncomfortable experience.

My car was struck by an errant golf ball from this course while I was driving on the adjacent public street, shattering my passenger-side turn signal assembly and rendering it inoperable. The entire impact is completely documented on my dashcam. After the strike, I pulled over down the road, saw the damage, and immediately turned around and went directly to the pro shop. I walked in and told the manager my car was just hit and damaged. He had the nerve to ask if I saw where it came from (as if I'm scanning the fairways while driving on a main road), but then immediately provided his own guess: "Was it from Hole 5?" He said it so quickly I actually assumed he had seen it happen; but no, he just already knows it's a constant issue (he even admitted the hole points directly toward the street). He then brushed me off, told me there was nothing the course could do, and told me to just call my insurance. Think about the liability of that admission: The staff openly acknowledges that the physical layout of Hole 5 creates a recurring hazard for public traffic. They know exactly why it happens, yet they refuse to put up netting, redesign the tee box, or mitigate the risk in any way. They just expect the public to eat the repair costs when the inevitable happens. Acknowledging a structural public danger and doing absolutely nothing about it is the literal definition of negligence. If you drive near Gardner Municipal Golf Course, be extremely careful. To the course management: My next step is a formal public records request to the city for every single time a car has been struck by a golf ball anywhere on Green Street (Route 140), not just the ones you already know about from Hole 5. This will be followed by a formal claim under the Massachusetts Tort Claims Act. See you on the record; unless management wants to reach out and make this right. Edit - The public records request is complete and proves documented negligence. Official police reports confirm multiple vehicles have been struck and damaged while traveling north on Green Street over the last 3-4 years. Given how the pro shop immediately brushes drivers off, I can only imagine how many incidents have gone unreported.
