Description

Turf Valley’s Original course tends to deliver a classic resort layout feel, with a routing that often emphasizes rhythm, repeat playability, and steady strategy. The design typically rewards golfers who prioritize fairways and conservative approach targets rather than chasing every tucked pin. Greens and short-game areas can become the score separator, especially when conditions firm up and putting becomes more demanding. It’s a course that often suits groups and mixed handicaps because it offers multiple ways to play holes. Original feels like dependable resort golf: comfortable, familiar, and consistently enjoyable.

We stayed at Turf Valley Resort from December 8 to 15, 2025, while visiting family in the U.S., and overall had a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Our suite was comfortable and well appointed, and the inclusion of a full kitchenette was particularly convenient for an extended stay. An option to better partition the suite would improve privacy and flexibility, particularly for longer stays. The staff, both at the hotel and within the golf operations, were consistently helpful and courteous. Their professionalism contributed positively to the overall stay. It was also a pleasure to play the golf course just before the snowfall set in — a memorable experience and a highlight of our visit. Wedding and Christmas parties held during the period helped create a truly festive atmosphere. While the golf course would benefit from a bit more attentive care and detailing to fully match the quality of the overall resort offering, Turf Valley Resort is a solid choice, and we would gladly return.

We got the romantic package that had the massage, overnight stay and breakfast. Massage was great. Room was ok. On the outdated side but definitely huge. Breakfast was also ok. Coffee was just a cup. Not even in a small pot with 2-3 cups. Staff (spa, restaurant and front desk). Gave it a low rating because we were awakened by renovation. We were not informed beforehand nor was it mentioned at the time of booking/checkin. We booked a hotel to celebrate our anniversary to enjoy a quiet morning without the kids and waking up to reno noise wasn't great.

Basic conference center hotel in a private golf club. Okay if your organization has rented space for an event and you need rooms to ensure guest safety/not having to drive home after drinking. Hotel staff are a bit indifferent to non-members.

I stayed the weekend for a group celebration: The staff were very friendly and the location was beautiful. The inside also had beautiful Christmas decorations and places throughout the hotel where you could take pictures at different backdrops. The spa was absolutely amazing as well. The only complaints that I had were: 1) the walls in my room were very thin so I could hear my neighbors; and 2) both nights I stayed I ate at Alexandra’s there food came out of the warm. I’m not sure if it was because I was part of a larger group and they wanted to serve everyone at the same time, but our servers were still awesome. Finally, I did order room service for lunch and my food arrived quickly and was hot.

I stayed at the resort for a business event, and each time I turned a corner, I said, wow...then wow...then wow. Absolutely stunning architecture, friendly staff, and everything was sparkling clean. The buffets at the events were beautiful set and the food was fresh and delicious. My room had a balcony with a stunning view of the golf course. The resort also had an amphitheatre were they hold events for the public. Even though it's close to the big cities, you feel worlds away from the chaos of everyday. The resort is a perfect place for a weekend getaway without the hassle of traveling for hours to get there.
