This was a fun course to play with friends. The staff was very friendly and the price was right, about $50 with cart on a Saturday morning. Range balls are $5 a bucket. If you are playing this course for the first time, don't even think about walking, unless you are carrying your bag and are in great shape. Lots of elevation changes and gravel cart paths with some hikes between holes would make pushing a cart rough. Fairways were decent and greens ok. They were slow and had recently been aerated. Aerataside, I think they still would been slow. Several holes require a good bit of course knowledge to play properly. #6 is their signature holes and is a short downhill par three. Sign a scorecard say 150, but it measured about 80 yards. It is easily 50 feet downhill, so use just a partial wedge. We had a great time and some of the views are very nice. The course sits right on the side of Big Rock Hill.

Always have a great time playing this course! Prices are fair, course is almost always in great condition, and I find it quite challenging to play, which makes it fun! The front 9 is very up & down hill, with lots of opportunities to cross a small stream that runs through the course, so every hole is a new challenge, and you have a very unique par 3 with an elevated tee box sitting 150-170ft above the green, always makes for an interesting shot & club choice. I find the back 9 a bit easier, but still challenging as you cross the same stream a few more times, and have some pretty epic tee shots with some great views.

This course is in rough shape this year compared to previous years. I brought a friend of mine there thinking it would be in great shape; however, the greens are burnt, they have seeding on them already, and there were big long cut marks across the greens almost like they were cut way too low and the machine got caught on them (this was every green not just one or two). Furthermore, we got yelled at by a grounds keeper to the point he was swearing at us for teeing off from their "iconic" hole. We did not see signs and there was tape that we thought was for no carts. That tee box was the only good one on the course so I have no idea why it is even closed, there are a ton that are now slanted and not flat. Maybe the grounds keeper should spend more time tending the greens than screaming at the few golfers on the course. On the back 9 there was a group of 6 kids riding the carts like go-carts and not actually golfing it didn't bother us just pointing it out as we got yelled at for golfing the course and you had them skidding through fairways. If the course was in the shape of other seasons I would have given it a 3 star but what a terrible experience, I cannot say I'll be returning and will definitely not be bringing people there or recommending it. Presque isle is in great shape btw and I've never had a bad experience with the staff.
