We stayed here in May during our visit to Mammoth Cave. As many of the other reviews indicated - the place is very run down and in need of some attention. We golfed at the golf course and it was probably the worst course I have ever played on. It was not expensive which was a plus - and it was a nice day so we were not overly disappointed. It was very close to the park. If you need a full hookup near Mammoth Cave I think this is your only option.

The sites were awful. Nothing is close to level. We had to level our steps just to get into our RV. The staff is wonderful. Every site was literally within a few feet of one another. At our first site our awning covered our neighbor’s electric box and our slide outs was close to our electric box. The second site we stayed was not much better. The putt putt was abysmal. It was the worst putt putt experience ever. The pool was fantastic!!! A small little library is nice. Again the staff made the experience better.

To say our stay was a disappointment is an understatement, The grounds are unbelievably neglected, the mini golf course was in horrible condition. The game room was a joke, most parts were missing, broken or pure sticky nastiness. Mold is growing out of the ceiling. Showers had broken handles where you couldn't turn on cold water. The camping sites were in no better shape, grass was not cut. We got placed by what we could assume was a old pump station and the smell is so hard to describe but when my kids would go out of the camper they would start gagging. Posts holding up the roof at the bath house are held up by metal hose clamps. Their website states you pick your site upon arrival. This is not true they place you where they want you, you have no say. We had originally booked at another campground. However, we wanted a buddy site for our camper and a tent for friends. We express this when we were brought to our designated site which was probably one of the smallest sites on the corner we ended up telling our friends there was no space for them so they canceled their trip. I've been in property Management. I understand corporations. However, you do budgets every year. If you have maintenance, you are continuously putting back into your property. You start by washing signs, painting buildings, taking care of the property. This place is so run down. There are plenty of other campgrounds I would suggest checking into before you experience the same amount of disappointment and financial regret that we've experienced.

First of all the staff and other campers were super friendly and helpful. You could tell some of the long time campers really love the park and the community they built. If you need a overnight to visit a cave and you are not there for the campground this is a ideal location, its right in the entrance of mamoth cave and driving distance to cave city and bowling green. Positive and negative, our site was facing towards another camper which made it difficult to find which picnic table to use but we met a nice man that told my daughter all kinds of story's and he wad very friendly so we felt comfortable and luckily we got a great neighbor. The electric and water is shared with the camp site behind us which could of been challenging but that neighbor immediately came out and assisted us with sharing the utilities using a splitter. So those things could have been negative but the campers around us made it ok;) the game room and quite rooms were really neat and I love the concept especially for homeschooling. We sat on the couch and read a book , played checkers and pool. The TV in the game room only played black and white and we couldn't get the sound to work. The lights flickered alot and could use some new bulbs. The pool sticks need to be updated and there was no foosebal available to play that but over all it was a super cool rooms. The swimming pool was closed due to us being there in April. But I love that its a option to swim in the summer. The play ground definitely needs to be updated if it was it could be a really good one. The negative the mini golf course looked like it went through a zombie apocalypse all it needed was some cob webs and they got a great halloween course. They need to fix the greens and clean it up a bit. The shower houses were clean. Over all we had a great time, but we didn't come for the amenities we came to explore the cave and use the campground as a base to sleep and eat. To some it up this place could be spectacular with a little TLC. Loved the people and the place. We had a great time.

I reserved a pull-through site months in advance, yet was assigned a cramped, narrow back-in site with no explanation—a clear failure to honor reservations. The front desk staff were dismissive and extremely arrogant. They also stated that they are not part of Thousand Trails, which added to the confusion and lack of accountability. I also saw very few level campsites, which made setup unnecessarily difficult. The campground appears poorly managed overall. I stayed for a week and used the restroom daily, and at no point did it appear to have been cleaned—unacceptable for any paid facility. Between the mismanaged booking, lack of basic sanitation, poor site conditions, and unprofessional staff, this place falls well below reasonable standards. I would strongly advise others to avoid it.
