Description

The Big Blue course at the University Club of Kentucky delivers a modern championship-style experience with generous fairways and engaging green complexes. The routing uses subtle elevation changes and water features to create variety from hole to hole without feeling repetitive. Players can choose their challenge via multiple teeing grounds that stretch the course for better players while keeping it approachable for developing golfers. Practice resources—including a full driving range and short-game areas—support structured training and collegiate-caliber preparation. Conditioning typically emphasizes smooth putting surfaces and defined fairway lines through peak season, making Big Blue a reliable venue for everyday play and events.

We played wildcat. It was ok.. the construction kinda takes the competivness out of the course. Play it for fun. It's almost worth the money. Some of the course is perfect and the layout is so cool that if someone wanted to make this course great... it could be. Take it or leave it.

Second time playing University Club, last year was the Big Blue course and this year was the Wildcat Course. Both courses offer great playing experiences with the Big Blue being the better of the 2. Wildcat was going through some renovations this year so the first handful of holes weren’t the condition the typically are but the course as a whole was a fun to play. Highly recommend checking out the University Club!

Played the Wildcat course today (11/14/25) . Gotta say our group was disappointed with the condition of the course. Maintenance at this facility seems to be focused on the Big Blue course leaving Wildcat very neglected. The fairways were decent considering the bermuda grass had already gone dormant for winter. Areas around the green needed mowing very badly. Roughs were very inconsistent, some really high and thick others pretty "clumpy" with bare spots. The bunkers were unplayable. Greens were also inconsistent in terms of the speed but were in pretty good shape overall. This course could be top notch if proper attention was given to the maintenance. The layout and location are among the best in central Kentucky. No housing developments around the course make it a terrific natural setting. It will likely be quite a while before I go back there though.

I played both courses and found both to be fun but also challenging. Be careful of the back nine on the Wildcat course as you have three holes that you will get massively attacked by mosquito's. There were thousands of them. Overall a pair of great courses that will be fun for all skill levels.

Absolutely beautiful course. A nice balance of fun yet challenging holes. Wish the practice greens had more of some short grass to practice chipping. Fall rates are extremely reasonable.
