My wife and I went to Canewood Club House and will have to the say the whole experience was not good from beginning!! I felt bad for the young lady that was a server but she really had no answers for our questions… we saw the menu on line then was told the first couple of items we ask about no we don’t have.. ask couple more question she made 3/4 trips to back for answers finally told they are between spring and summer menu’s… it is June 28th lil late for menu change over.. the young lady said wellll it maybe a little while(in her defense they did have a tournament going on) but was only 1 other set of customers and they were already served! At that point it was time to go so I ask how long she went to back she must have the feeling we was leaving and she was right!! She came back said they would do ours before the tournament ( Golfers had not even begun to come back in)… the ice tea had to be from yesterday or day before definitely not fresh( wife wouldn’t drink hers) as said before any item she ask about they didn’t have so ordered salad with chicken salad on side… chicken salad was so so at best… my onion rings were ok my quesadilla was dry and not very good ( better at Zaxby’s) … overall just not a good experience!!

Literally the worst experience I have ever had playing golf. I love golf, play at least twice a week. The only reason this isn’t one star over two is because the pro shop warned me about the conditions I would face (only after I already paid for it on GolfNow of course). First, the “fairways” are no shorter than the rough would be at a nice course. The greens are the same length as the fairway. This course has no business being open. They should feel shame in taking people’s money for a green fee until this place is in much better condition. My only question is how dare they?

I honestly can’t remember the last time I played a golf course where I couldn’t find one good thing to say about the course itself. Usually, even with a bad golf experience, you can start a review with, “Well, at least they were friendly.” Unfortunately, I can’t even start there. The pro shop area was a mess, and the steps leading up to it were dilapidated. That should have been my first warning. Then we got to the course. Hole #1’s green was literally mud. Hole #2 got a little better, except it had growth in the middle of the green. From there, I kept waiting to find a decent putting surface. I never did. I found zero greens that I would consider reasonably puttable. Eventually, I started using my home golf-simulator rules: within 10 feet, it’s a one-putt; within 20 feet, it’s a two-putt. There really wasn’t much point trying to judge a normal putt on these greens. It wasn’t just the greens, either. I honestly couldn’t find one part of the course that I would describe as being in good condition. Even the golf cart felt like it was on its last leg. I spent the round feeling like one of the tires was about to fall off. There appeared to be plenty of local golfers around, including a large gathering, but the atmosphere wasn’t particularly welcoming to an outsider. What really surprised me is seeing Canewood listed on GolfNow. Based on the condition we experienced, I have no idea how this course meets the expectations most golfers would associate with a recommended golf destination. I don’t enjoy leaving reviews like this, and I kept looking for something positive to mention. I simply couldn’t find it. Until there are major improvements to the greens, course conditions, facilities, carts, and overall customer experience, I cannot recommend playing Canewood Golf Club.

Staff is nice. Pace of play is great. Nice clubhouse and bar/restaurant. Greens and tee boxes were a bit shaggy, but they did warn me ahead of time. I enjoyed my round.

Greens are horrible. Nice layout. Beautiful course. The greens are dog water. Putting is basically impossible. Has great potential save your money and pick another place. 5/31/26
