Description

Prairie Trails in El Dorado is a highly regarded 18-hole course designed by Larry Winton in the early 1950s. Its routing stretches over 6,700 yards and makes excellent use of rolling terrain and mature trees. Multiple tees ensure it remains playable for all skill levels, while water hazards and bunkers add strategic depth. A driving range and short-game area make it a full-service facility. Known for steady conditioning and a strong league scene, it's one of central Kansas's premier courses.

In terms of staff, by far the most hostile golf course I have ever played. Especially for a course where the tee box grass is often reminiscent of mid length rough. Staff seems determined to squash any good times and often berates their players at loud volumes for 10-15 minutes at a time. Was literally in shock at how rude they were. Also, way overpriced for the conditions of the course. Not sure what the target audience of this course is. It’s not nearly nice enough for serious golfers and way too snobbish for casual golfers.

Nice course. Can't give it a full honest grade as it is still early in the season and the course is not quite to its full potential. I'm sure once the greens are green, the fairways aren't freshly airrated and the brown spots are back to the lush course desirability it will be a great course to play!

Had an event here in the Bar area. Very accommodating and very nice staff.

Probably the worst golf course I’ve ever been too. the fairways are terrible, the greens have huge dead spots everywhere. The staff are outrageously rude and have zero consideration for beginner golfers.. I wouldn’t recommend this course if it was the only one in Kansas and I mean that!

Not a bad course, a good place to bring a beginning golfer. New owner as of last year. They have added a small restaurant in the clubhouse. Hopefully, the course gets better. Front 9 greens were redone a few years back and already look horrible. A few have bare spots with just dirt. The Tee boxes are the biggest reason I rated it 3 Stars. Some of the tees get cut more than others and some days you have either an uphill or downhill lie on the tee box. The fairways are more than wide enough even for the higher handicap player, the staff has done a great job on mowing the knee-high native grass down to speed play up and make it more enjoyable for all.
