Prairie Trails in El Dorado is a highly regarded 18-hole course designed by Larry Winton in the early 1950s. Its routing stretches over 6,700 yards and makes excellent use of rolling terrain and mature trees. Multiple tees ensure it remains playable for all skill levels, while water hazards and bunkers add strategic depth. A driving range and short-game area make it a full-service facility. Known for steady conditioning and a strong league scene, it's one of central Kansas's premier courses.

This course is fun, however it is not maintained at all, huge ruts, massive chunks missing in the tee boxes, fairways might as well be the rough. Otherwise it is well balanced and flows decently!

Played in March 2026. 75F and sunny. The greens were well maintained. The service was good. The course is in terrible shape. Not worth the $45. Better off driving to Emporia or Wichita. There are no hole maps signs at tee box so you don’t know the where you are hitting. The fairways were patchy grass, weed, dirty, dried grass. The tee boxes were worse. Will definitely not play here again

Nice course. Can't give it a full honest grade as it is still early in the season and the course is not quite to its full potential. I'm sure once the greens are green, the fairways aren't freshly airrated and the brown spots are back to the lush course desirability it will be a great course to play!
