Description

Sheaffer Memorial is a long, open-feeling municipal track on rolling terrain outside Fort Madison. The course can stretch beyond 7,000 yards from the tips and favors confident driving. Mature trees, water in spots, and large greens define the challenge. A full practice range supports daily play and events. The course dates to the late 1960s and remains a regional value round.

I liked the course layout. Some easier holes and some challenging holes. The bad part was that greens had been top dressed a few days/a week prior, and putting was not fun. (Bad timing) Although those who played it previously said the greens are always in very good shape. Will go back.

Love going to this golf course for our annual Tee Off 4 Tray tournament in June. Course is always in great shape & very fun to play each time

Wonderful place to have a baby shower, wedding party or a course of 18 hole golf. Beautiful club house.

I rate this course 5*! Nice runs, well kept and you can almost always get a T-time. There are some nice open fairways, yet still technical. The greens are in good shape and well maintained. The driving range is always native grass. Never have to worry about practicing from turf… The staff is awesome! Very pleasant every time. One of my cleats didn’t make it into my vehicle last time I played. I called out there and sure enough, they had it put back for me.
