I was incredibly fortunate to call Emerald Hills home during my college golf years from 2021–2023. As a student-athlete, having a course of this quality to practice and compete on was a privilege — but what made it truly special were the people. The members didn’t just tolerate us being there; they embraced us. They supported us, encouraged us, celebrated our successes, and made us feel like we belonged. That kind of environment is rare. I also had the opportunity to give back in small ways — mowing greens in the early mornings, collecting range balls, helping prepare the course during the busy pre-season. Being behind the scenes gave me an even deeper appreciation for the pride and care that goes into maintaining Emerald Hills. The condition of the course is no accident; it reflects hard work, attention to detail from Mike and his team, and genuine love for the club. Coming from Scotland and being thousands of miles from home, I could never have imagined how much Emerald Hills would come to mean to me. Randy and Molly went far beyond their roles — they made me feel welcomed, valued, and looked after. What started as a place to develop my golf game became my home away from home — a place of comfort, belonging, and countless lifelong memories. Emerald Hills shaped me not only as a golfer but as a person. If you’re considering visiting or joining, know that you’re not just stepping onto a golf course — you’re stepping into a community that cares deeply about the game and about each other. I can say with complete confidence that you will not be disappointed by the atmosphere, the condition, or the experience. It’s a truly special place.

Amazing course backed by amazing people! Always in great condition, tournaments are fun, & great for beginners and low handicaps. Can’t wait to get my daughter out there more this summer!

This place is real deal! Started with the golf and even with the lack of rain the course (especially the greens) were in fantastic shape. We had a group of 12 of us out there and the owner and the rest of the staff were top notch hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. The bar/restaurant had great quick sandwiches that hit the spot and the drinks were fairly priced. Anytime I’m visiting the okoboji area this will be my first stop.

Emerald Hills hosted our group of 16 on a Friday in late April. We were treated EXCEPTIONALLY well from the moment we stepped onto the property. We were each given a drink ticket (unexpected). They made custom flag prizes and set them out for us. They even gave us a slight discount since we were playing 27 holes that day. The course was in great condition. We would definitely go back again.
