A modern (2002) David Esler creation in Sugar Grove, Black Sheep is a throwback to the golden age with massive, wild bunkers, sprawling fairways, and greens that look impossible until you learn their subtleties. Famous for its all-male membership and “play fast” ethos, it’s one of the most fun and creative courses in Illinois. The clubhouse is deliberately understated, letting the golf do the talking.
