my husband has been a member of the country club since 2017 faithfully paying his dues. In the year 2025 this current year, my husband decided not to join the country club however, he went several times paying each and every time. His reasons for not joining we're personal, but not because he did not enjoy the love of golf. We still have the letter that he received in September stating that he could no longer golf anymore this year unless he joined. Some of the buddies that he golfed with never received this such letter I can't tell you how hurt my husband was. We believe everything happens for a reason and we have forgiven the Salem country club.

It was an ok course. Clubhouse was small and not much for a bar and really no pro shop area. Played on a day after some storms went through the day before with heavy rains so couldn't play front 9. Other than wet from the recent rains, the greens were in fairly good condition. Some tee boxes were pretty beat up or rough beyond just storm damage. Green fees were not too bad. It was an ok course to play.

Recently book a wedding and reception here, what should have been a happy day a bartender named whitney made horible. She complained about individuals attending the reception to club members sitting at the bar, loudly making it a point for us to here. This was unacceptable and quite rude to the families. As they stated they provided tea and lemonade to the event, Whitney told the adults NO when the asked for it and told our guest it was only for the children. We were able to supply beer to the wedding reception, but even that was a big ordeal to her, she tried to tell us we couldn't, we had to take it to a manager. Were they didn't inform us we could but that it had to be purchased thru them only. One of our guest racked up a tab of 90 some dollars, and she wiped it away, didn't even charge him. As they flirted together all night. And then to a different guest of ours because hes a different race, made sure he heard her complain to club memebers that our guest shouldn't be aloud there, that he didn't belong there because he was black. Again rude to family and friends who paid for this space & to enjoy a beautiful step in there loved one lives. We had this place until 10:30pm but in the 8 o'clock hour, as our dance floor was outside & meal and drinks was inside, we go inside to get a drink use a restroom or whatever it may have been to find that we whitney took it upon herself to start cleaning and picking up our cups. So there for guest thought it was over and were leaving our reception ended at 9 o'clock We paid and had it until 10-10:30, but yet again whitney the bartender caused our time to celebrate to be cut short. Dont get me wrong it's a nice place, but my recommendation is if you inquire about them cross your t and dot ur I, and request she not be there on your specail day.

I have been a member for many years now. It is well maintained and well-managed.it is one of the nicer courses in southern Illinois.

Really fun course just needs to be mowed down a bit... Losing balls in the fairway calls for a long day
