Description

Coyote Run Golf Course delivers a modern layout with wide fairways, bold bunkering, and smooth, fast greens. Many holes allow golfers to choose aggressive or conservative lines, creating strong strategic variety. Native grasses and wetlands add beauty while influencing tee-shot decisions. The course is known for great conditioning and friendly service. It's a polished suburban golf experience.

Always in great shape and a great value for the dollar. Even at the end of the season, the course is great and the ground crews are still working.

Nice spot for a decent price to get some golf in. The course is in good shape too.

Disappointed by Staff Behavior Despite an Otherwise Great Course I’ve always enjoyed golfing at this course and usually have a great experience, but unfortunately this past weekend changed that. I went out for a round with a friend and, as a twosome, we were paired with an older gentleman and his son. While our pace was a bit slower due to the older gentleman who hasn’t golfed in a year, there was never anyone within a hole of us the entire round—no one pushing from behind or in sight ahead. Despite this, a course employee named Jeff Stark began hounding us around hole 5, claiming we were 15 minutes behind pace. We acknowledged this and told him we’d speed up. By hole 8, Jeff was sitting silently in a cart at the tee box, just watching us—no words, just a looming presence. Then on hole 13, he fully confronted us, saying, “Look to your right—those guys are on 17 and they started 10 minutes before you.” At that point, I was fed up. I responded, “Good for them,” to which Jeff suggested we “play the yellow tees or skip a hole to fix the problem.” I couldn’t believe the disrespect, especially given the amount we paid to play. When I pushed back, he told me his name and said to feel free to report him; then *drives off* This completely threw me for a curve the rest of the round as I was ticked off and worried Jeff may be around the corner breathing down our necks. Jeff’s behavior was aggressive, unnecessary, and frankly ruined what should have been a relaxed round. There was absolutely no need for his attitude when no one was being held up. I don’t think Jeff could even swing a club himself, yet he felt entitled to micromanage our game with zero tact or professionalism. Thankfully, the clubhouse manager was very kind and handled the situation with much more class than Jeff Stark did. Still, a warning to anyone playing here: keep your pace up and do everything you can to avoid Jeff Stark if you want to enjoy your round. Rating: Course 10/10 Jeff in his golf cart 0/10

I was here for a private event and the food was amazing, but when I asked the bar tenders if they have moscato wine (specifically) they said yes, then proceeded to pour Pinot Grigio. Which those who know wine, these are not the same. They charged me for “Moscato” but that is not what was poured. I just wish they had more experience behind the bar, because I would’ve ordered something else. I like sweet wines, that’s why I asked before ordering, but Pinot Grigio is more dry and was hard to finish.

Is this the best golf course in America? No. Does this course know who they are? Yes. Is that a bad thing? No. Reasonably priced, interesting design, and pretty fast play, this is my go-to public course in Chicago. Staff is always friendly and the halfway house/bar may have the best chicken salad sandwich in Chicago.
