Originally designed by Colt & Alison in the 1920s and beautifully restored in recent years, Briarwood in Deerfield is a hidden North Shore treasure with heroic carries, diabolical bunkering, and some of the boldest green complexes in the Chicago area. The course feels like it belongs on the heathlands of Surrey, not the Midwest. Quiet, understated, and fiercely proud of its heritage.
