This is a private course where you can pay to be a member for the day. Was very disappointed given the price, $300, which is the same you pay for the Wailea courses which are in much better condition. There were some really nice views of the island but short of that pretty uninteresting and would expect much better conditions for the price. If you want a superior golf experience for the same price go to Wailea Golf.

Well worth the price. I spend a week in Maui every year and the last two have been making a point to play KKGC. The course is TOUGH, no easy shots, but well worth the struggle - the course is always in great shape, wonderful water views from the east to the west, and the staff are super friendly and accommodating! I even had the Director of Golf drive out my breakfast mid round because I had forgotten it after teeing off. Can't wait to see them again next year!

We don't play golf but wanted to visit the state-of-the art King Kamehameha Golf Club on Maui. We were positively surprised that the main building was open to the public. It accommodates a polynesian art collection.

Private golf on Maui. What a privilege it was to play here. They do allow outside request from the public to player and I would highly recommend trying. We had a 9am tee time. Beautiful golf shop. Driving range completely empty, and gorgeous. No pressure at all while playing. I honestly think I saw 2 other groups the whole day and one was a twosome. You are not bothered by anyone trying to play in 3.5 hours or play in 5.5 hours. The course itself is incredibly demanding. There are so many different holes and well designed holes, it sure is a players course. Incredible condition, absolutely immaculate and the greens were PURE. Fast but smooth as a pool table. WIND. My oh my the wind BLOWS here. We played in windy conditions both days. I am honestly not a great wind player and struggled. We have some incredible shots in the wind though. Hole 17 I hit a 5iron from 140yards dead into a stiff wind. (My 5i goes ~200y) Hole 18 I hit a 56° sand wedge from 155 yards on a massive downwind. (My SW goes ~95y) So anyway, the wind sounds fun, and it was; but any miss could be hugely costly. The clubhouse is beautiful. Looks like a spaceship from the outside. Truly a beautiful and super enjoyable experience playing this private club and I am very grateful for the opportunity.

The views from the clubhouse and the architecture and the appointments of the clubhouse are beautiful and are 5 star. Otherwise you enter the grounds of the golf course and drive up to the clubhouse undisturbed and then there is no one there to help guide you. You could wander over the private golf course and the club house without running into anyone else unless you ran across the golf store which is downstairs with the locker rooms and clubhouse dining room or golfers on the course. There are no signs to tell you that the dining room is downstairs. The food was good, but nothing that would top the restaurants that are closer to the local towns. Totally worth visiting to see the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and golf course, but you don't have to dine here to do so. Lots of parking.
