Enjoyable experience while on the big island. A bit more expensive than what I was expecting since many sites pointing to the course indicated that a small bucket of balls was included. I rented clubs and no game balls were included (many club rentals I've done come with game balls, usually two sleeves). This is my first Hawaiian course play. Course was in decent shape, fairways had plenty of carry. The greens were fair. Staff was quite helpful. Not as much ocean scenery along the course as some of the marketing leads one to believe. The course is fun to play with plenty of dog legs, undulating fairways. Your first time playing I recommend a course map app so you can see hidden obstacles.

Makani is a hidden gem of a golf course. Half the price of the resort courses on the coast and better in a lot of ways. Cooler and less windy up there. Greens were in great shape. Fun and challenging course. #17 island green is always a test followed by #18 with a huge lake down the middle of the fairway. Will play this course again

Played the course yesterday in the evening. It was a very fun track and I was able to play fast. There is some challenging holes and beautiful scenery. Worth the drive!

I had an amazing time playing here, and the course itself is in great shape. The views are absolutely spectacular, and the unique addition of stargazing and glow golf makes it a stand-out experience compared to other courses I've visited. It’s definitely a must-visit if you are in the area and looking for a fun day on the links.
