Absolutely perfect spot to play a casual 9 holes. Staff is superb and extremely kind. Great views with some elevation change. Greens are true.

Really enjoyed the course. Nice and challenging (for an amateur like me) with lots of elevation changes. Not "perfectly manicured" but well taken care of IMO, especially given the only $20 charge to walk 9. Very laid back and unpretentious place, which I like. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant this time, but I'll definitely be back.

Hawaii's Oldest Golf Tradition, Still Going Strong Moanalua Golf Club puts things in perspective. Founded in 1898, this is the oldest golf course in Hawaii — and one of the oldest in the entire United States. Originally designed by Scottish architect Donald MacIntyre for landowner Samuel Mills Damon on the slopes of Moanalua Valley, the nine-hole layout was reduced to its current form around 1908 and has held that character ever since. What the course lacks in length (2,972 yards, par 36) it makes up for in personality: no sand bunkers anywhere, out of bounds on every single hole, a stream winding through the layout, and trade winds that make every shot a decision. The Smartgolfcourses team stopped by and appreciated the unassuming, community-first atmosphere at the entrance to Moanalua Valley. Semi-private, open to guests after 10 AM. A piece of living Hawaiian golfing history. #MoanaluaGolf #OahuGolf #Smartgolfcourses

This is a 9 hole golf course that has some challenging blind shots either up the hill or down (8th hole) and a few ravines. I went during the week and it wasn't crowded and played two balls. If you are looking for a course with some challenges but is pretty open and not feeling rushed then this is a good course to check out. The food isn't too bad either.

This is a 9 hole course with a mix of parking 3's, 4's, and 5's. The condition of the course is pretty rough. The course is located in a valley, and shots will typically role with the slope of the mountain. Tee boxes were not cut, grass looked like the the rough, and some tee boxes were sandy. The fairway grass was pretty thick, and it was hard to tell the difference between the rough and fairway. The grass is not the typical type of grass you find on golf courses. The fairways are pretty wide, and missing left or a little tight won't hurt you. There are thick trees and bushes on some of the holes, usually on the right side. The greens are elevated a little and sloping with the mountain side. There are bald spots on the greens that make it harder to putt through. The grass was pretty long for greens, and it made the ball roll really slow. There are no greenside bunkers at this course. Amenities: -No driving range, it's a smaller course -There is a small putting and chipping green by hole 1 There is a restaurant upstairs at the clubhouse. The food was pretty good and the service was fast. They do sell alcohol for those that want to enjoy a beverage.
