Description

Set in the Blue Ridge foothills, Brasstown Valley's mountain layout threads through hardwoods and rolling meadows. Denis Griffiths' design (1995) balances scenic elevation changes with generous corridors and plenty of risk reward par 5s. The resort's range, short game area and expansive practice putting green make it a popular stay and play venue. Elevated tees deliver postcard views, while creek crossings and well placed bunkers protect scoring. It's a stout but fair par 72 that rewards precise approaches to subtly contoured greens. The course is known for excellent conditioning and four season play.

We went for a wedding, so I am only reviewing the hotel. The main entry hall is beautiful and has a great rustic feel. The views from the deck are spectacular especially in the fall. The rooms are a little dated but clean and everything was in good shape, but they could use some modernizing. We wanted to take a selfie to capture the beautiful view and one of the gentlemen who works for the golf course helped us out and told us all about the resort. He definitely really likes working there. The pavilion where the wedding was held is beautiful and the food was very good. We ate breakfast the next morning in the main dining room and it was pretty good, but any options other than what was on the buffet was very limited. It was pretty pricey for basic breakfast food, but it's a resort, so I expected that.

Our visit to Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa exceeded all expectations. The staff was attentive, friendly, and engaging. We visited after Christmas! The decorations were delightful and warm. I would highly recommend the weekend dinner buffets! They did not disappoint. The bread pudding was divine! We are already planning a girls' trip for next year!

My wife booked us a room so we wouldn't have to drive after our fine dinning dinner. It was a two plus hour drive. When we arrived and checked in, we were informed that the restaurant was only serving buffet and that is not exactly my definition of fine dinning. The Grille was great but we could had a hamburger anywhere here near home with out the driving. Can't say I will recommend this to anyone and going back will not happen.

We had a nice stay with our family while we were in town for a funeral. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. I don’t think we ever walked past a staff member who did not make eye contact with us and speak to us. We met Gloria near the game room and she was so pleasant to talk with and helped our boys with a clue for scavenger hunt and gave them word searches to do on the ride home. We loved the cozy fireplace and relaxing atmosphere. Our family enjoyed working on puzzles together in the lobby and playing pool. We hope to come back again soon!

This was absolutely the worst experience of our lives. We were snowed in, which made the issues even more difficult to deal with. When we arrived, our cottage had not been properly cleaned. There was a visible stain on the corner of the couch and floor that appeared to be pet urine, and the dishwasher was full of dishes that had not been put away. The most upsetting experience occurred at the downstairs bar. The bartender, Bob, served my husband two double Crown Royal drinks with ginger ale. When my husband requested another drink, he was told he was cut off. At no point was he behaving inappropriately or appearing intoxicated. I went upstairs to the other bar and was told it was closed, then went to the front desk to speak with a manager. I was informed that no manager was on site due to the weather. I asked that the manager be contacted so I could speak with her by phone, as I had receipts in hand proving our drink purchases. Despite this, the staff stated they were standing by the bartender’s discretion and upheld his actions without review. Given the condition of the cottages, the lack of management availability, and how this situation was handled, this stay was extremely disappointing
