The King and Prince Beach Resort was such a lovely experience. The views alone set the tone — calming, expansive, and exactly what you hope for when you escape to the coast. It’s a historic property, and you absolutely feel that in the rooms. You’re not coming here for modern updates, but the character and charm more than make up for it. What truly stayed with me were the little moments: the thoughtful service, the comfortable amenities, and most of all, the sunrise. Watching the sun come up over the water was unforgettable — one of those rare moments that remind you why you travel in the first place. A beautiful stay from start to finish.

The rooms aren’t bad. They seem a little thrown together. Some stains and some dirt but fine other than that. Food is great but the bartender with the dark slicked back hair isn’t kind or attentive. My mom and I waited at the bar for 15 minutes after we tried waving him down several times. Made eye contact with us but didn’t care to come over. After my mom finally was able to speak to him, asking for dinner menus and drinks he basically waved us off and walked away. Turns out he went to the restroom which we found out after we were walking out

Have been to K and P several times with people from out of the area and out of State. Usually have great service at the bar when we stop in. Today was a different story. The 4 of us stood at the bar for the better part of 10 min and we were not served...we were not even acknowledged. One other party was served twice in the ti.e we were standing there. I gave feedback to the manager and it seemed as if he couldn't be bothered. We were dressed appropriately, and were looking forward to a nice drink and a great view. Not sure we will go back again. Unbelievable.

I’ve been coming to The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort for over 10 years. Unfortunately, this 2026 visit will be my last. The location is still beautiful, but that’s where the positives end. The rooms are severely outdated and poorly maintained—noticeable odors, dirty carpets, and rusted bathroom fixtures. At the prices this resort charges, the condition of the rooms is simply unacceptable. Since the resort was sold to a corporate ownership group, the shift is very noticeable—and not in a good way. What used to feel like a charming Southern resort focused on guest experience now feels driven primarily by profit, with clear cost-cutting and declining standards across the board. The ECHO restaurant has declined dramatically. What used to be a highlight is now overpriced and underwhelming. Smaller portions, a confusing menu, slow service, and food arriving cold. It feels like you’re paying premium prices for a subpar experience. The current reality does not match the ratings you see online. The pool area has also lost control. Loud bluetooth speakers with hillbilly music , outside coolers, lack of supervision, and an overall chaotic atmosphere have completely changed the environment. On top of that, the ongoing bird problem is being ignored, which raises serious cleanliness concerns. Because of these issues, we made the decision to check out early. Despite that, we were still fully charged on our credit card for the additional night—including taxes, resort fees, and other charges. That only reinforced the feeling that guest experience is no longer a priority here. Despite I spoke with the manager over the phone, she refuses to refund me for the night we did not stay. I seen before companies desperately trying to get money from customers on the existing For comparison, I recently stayed at Jekyll Island Club Resort, and the difference was night and day—well-maintained, well-managed, and worth every dollar. It’s disappointing to see such a great property fall this far. Until there is a full renovation and major operational improvements, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

It's a nice hotel, do not mistake. But I'm not a fan of the check-in "window". I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and have never had to wait past 4 for my room. The room we had was fine, if not a bit dated. Large bathroom, but small older tub shower. Property is grand. Location can't be beat for the island.
