A Macon mainstay, Idle Hour is a Donald Ross design with hallmark angled greens and demand for thoughtful positioning. The layout rolls across gently undulating ground where approach angles matter as much as distance. Modern maintenance has preserved Ross's strategic intent while quickening the putting surfaces. From the tips it plays just under 7,000 yards with a strong course rating that reflects its defense at the greens. Practice facilities, including a generous range, make it a full-service private club.

While in Macon escaping Hurricane Irma, I got the chance to play Idle Hour. Helps I played with a local. The golf course is incredible, in great shape and provided a really fun layout. I haven't played much golf in Georgia, but the towering pines are something to remember. Everyone I met on staff was friendly and the learning center is second to none. Macon is a fun little town and Idle Hour helps make it that much better. FORE!

I attended my nephew's wedding at Idle Hour, and the country club did a great job hosting the event.

I always love working weddings at Idle Hour. The venue runs beautifully, the staff is on top of every detail, and the day flows so smoothly for both couples and vendors. As a photographer, I appreciate how organized, responsive, and supportive the team is from start to finish. A special shoutout to La’Toya Jenkins for being wonderful to work with. Idle Hour is truly a standout venue. Highly recommend! — Annie T. Photography (@annietphotography)
