I have had the pleasure of playing at Barrington Hall the last few years. I quickly realized it was/is a historic and significant course to Macon. The new ownership has expedited noticeable improvements in all areas of the property and every upgrade adds to the course’s playability. There is a clear plan that is being implemented. Highly recommend this course for first timers and those who haven’t played BH in a while.

I’m dropping 5 stars on Barrington Hall, and here’s why. This is a fantastic layout—**challenging, fun, and scenic**. It has long, rewarding driving holes where a great tee shot really pays off, along with strategic approaches that make you think. That alone is worth three stars. As of Thanksgiving 2025 Barrington Hall is absolutely on the way up. The greens were smooth and rolled well and you can tell the course is trending in the right direction. New carts, new cart paths under construction and a genuinely solid group of guys who clearly care about creating a positive experience for every golfer. I played it twice this week and had an absolute blast figuring out the course. Barrington Hall is quickly becoming a course worth the drive to Macon, and I’m excited to see what it becomes.

Played Barrington Hall this past Sunday (7/27) and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. First off, the pricing listed online was $38, but when we arrived, we were told it was $45. When I asked about the difference, the staff member casually said, “We can’t control that.” That’s not acceptable. As a business, it’s your responsibility to ensure your online listings are accurate. It felt misleading, and there was zero effort to honor the posted rate or explain why it was different. As for the course itself honestly, it was in poor shape. The tee boxes, especially on the front nine, were overgrown. The greens were okay, not great, not awful. Maintenance clearly hasn’t been a priority, which made the round frustrating and not worth anywhere close to the price we paid. I’ve played a number of courses across middle Georgia, and Barrington Hall is unfortunately one of the worst conditioned I’ve seen recently. It’s a shame, because the layout has potential. I wouldn’t recommend playing here unless serious improvements are made. There are far better options nearby for the same or even lower price.

Course was in rough shape. Tee boxes were not very good and fairways were rough. Greens had recently been aerated so can’t really comment on them. For $52, I’d expect much better quality than what was received. Would not recommend, you can pay the same price and play a much better courses within a 25-30 min radius.

Someone posted that the greens were good. That's pretty accurate overall... However the rest of the course is in FULL disrepair. It's hard to describe this I know it was bought recently. Maybe it's future has hope? . I've never seen an open course in a condition like this!!! .. 1 example the cart paths on one hole were overgrown with brush and pine straw... if you could find the cart path... just drive the fairways for a smoother ride. Indescribable. It's open to play. Do you like weeds? Trees and branches down everywhere. Dirt tee boxes. Ga clay traps. 1 trap on the whole course had sand. Most traps are now full weed traps.. only the shape showed evidence it once was a trap. You need a 4 wheeler jeep to navigate the "cart" paths... even then I'd just drive on the fairways. This course feels more like a journey in the woods. Lots of overgrown weeds everywhere. Brush. This is the worst conditioned course you could ever play. It needs a bulldozer and put up low rent housing like it has all around it. I felt like my index dropped 3 points just by being on this course... I need a bath!
