I’ll say that the guys in the pro shop are fantastic people and the scenery is amazing. However there is one old guy that works there we have deemed the golf nazi. So my family went to big canoe for vacation and figured we would take in a round of golf. We went to the pro shop to set up the game and 6 people ended up being 500 something dollars. Not bad considering the scenery and the friendly people. We got our tee time and were discussing with the guys how we were going to play best ball with the six of us. They were informative and polite. Fast forward to the day of the game we go to the shop to check in and rent clubs for one person. We were given out our carts and went to the driving range to warm up. After warming up we made our way to the first hole. We were having so much fun. Fast forward to the 3rd hole. Some old guy drives up to us and cuts us off and starts raising his voice. What are you people doing? He asked. I tell him we are playing golf. Well you didn’t check in at my station! I told him we checked in at the pro shop and got our carts and were sent on. Well that’s the shop you check in with me and also we don’t allow six player teams. I explained we weren’t told to check in with him and they never said anything about no six man teams and I was very direct about how our family was playing six guys best ball and nothing was said. Well two of you are going to have to skip this hole and if you meet back up you’ll be kicked off the course. These carts have gps and we will know and we will come and get you. I finally told him fine and he went to my nephew and his younger friend and began going after them also. We split and continued our game. When we began our back nine his little office shack was right by the tee and when my nephew arrived he began interrogating them again. What are you doing. He explained he was fixing to tee off. Well this is where you do it! He was very rude and also stalked me and my wife to another hole and stared at us while we played. I will say he is the only jerk we met in the entirety of Big Canoe and while I will come back to stay again I nor my family will never set foot on that golf course again as long as that goof is working for them. Thanks for ruining a great family outing and making us feel like we paid over 500 dollars for nothing.

Update: The newly renovated clubhouse is open and they knocked it out of the park ! It's gorgeous, sitting over the lake and 18th green. Outdoor seating with plenty of of big screen TV's. Updated menu with good food. The servers rock, and the drinks are cold. The Clubhouse is being renovated and is closed until late summer. The new design and floor plan look amazing.

The staff was great, good selection of golf gear as well as other stuff. Fast service and an outstanding golf course. Fast greens and the fairways were in great shape. This a must-play Georgia golf course.

Incredible looking club house with great merchandise in the pro shop. Course was awesome to play and the greens were beautiful. Played from the blues and enjoyed every hole, perfect course for all skill levels. Had to stop a few times to appreciate all of the surrounding nature. Hope to come play again.
