It's January, but if it was spring or summer, the scenery would have been very nice. Everything was good except for a lot of damage to the grass at the tee box. The speed of the putting green was surprisingly fast, the practice range was well organized, and the staff was kind. The course was fun because it was tricky to play. It was a more satisfying round than a similarly priced golf course in Florida. I want to play again in the summer.

​Title: Unacceptable Course Management, Unprofessional Staff, and Blatant Double Standards ​I recently organized a 12-player outing (three consecutive tee times) at Legacy on Lanier. While our front nine went smoothly, the pro shop made an inexplicable and completely amateur decision to squeeze an unscheduled group of young women right in front of our second group at the 10th hole. To make matters exponentially worse, they allowed this inserted group to play as a 5-some starting on the 11th hole. ​Anyone who plays golf understands that allowing a 5-some, especially squeezing them into the middle of an organized outing at the turn, is a severe violation of pace-of-play and basic golf etiquette. ​When our group rightfully went to the clubhouse to complain about this absurd course management, the staff's response was not only dismissive but openly combative. Instead of apologizing for their blatant operational failure, they offered ridiculous excuses like, "You were playing fast anyway," and "You already played 9 holes fine." ​It is incredibly difficult not to conclude that a blatant double standard was applied here. Had our group of Asian-American players attempted to force a 5-some in the middle of a busy weekend schedule, we would have been strictly prohibited and reprimanded by the staff. The fact that the management bent over backwards to accommodate this for another demographic, while completely disregarding a scheduled 12-player outing, speaks volumes about their operational integrity and customer service. ​After a heated argument, we demanded and received a full refund for our entire party. However, the sheer disrespect, discriminatory vibe, and lack of professionalism from the clubhouse staff completely ruined what should have been a great outing. ​I strongly advise anyone looking to organize a serious round or a group outing to look elsewhere. A supposedly premium course should provide premium management, not this kind of chaotic, disrespectful, and amateurish experience.

My friend booked a tee time for 3:00 PM on May 31, 2026. Before our round, we specifically asked the pro shop about the condition of the greens. We were told they had been aerified about a week earlier. However, when I arrived early to practice, it was clear that the aerification had been done much more recently and the greens were still significantly affected. I contacted my friend, who immediately called the pro shop for clarification. Unfortunately, he received the same information, which did not accurately reflect the actual condition of the course. To make matters worse, there were no range balls available, and the sandwiches and drinks that were advertised as being included with the $130 green fee were not provided. For the price charged, the overall experience was very disappointing. Accurate communication about course conditions and fulfillment of included amenities are reasonable expectations for golfers paying premium green fees. After reading the owner's response, I feel compelled to clarify several points because it does not accurately reflect our experience. First, the greens were not subjected to a simple "light tine aeration" as claimed. The condition of the greens was obvious when we arrived. Second, the owner's comments about heavy rainfall and bunker conditions are irrelevant. My original review never mentioned bunkers or weather-related issues. There was also no "confusion" on our part. We specifically contacted the pro shop to ask about the condition of the greens before playing and were given information that did not match what we found upon arrival. That is not confusion—it is misinformation. Our tee time was at 3:00 PM, and the facility did not close until 4:00 PM. Why were there no range balls available? In addition, sandwiches and drinks that were included in the $130 green fee were not available. If amenities included in the price cannot be provided, customers should either be informed beforehand or charged accordingly. What disappointed me most was the overall management of the situation. Instead of acknowledging legitimate concerns, the response attempted to dismiss them with explanations that were unrelated to the issues we raised. The staff was not particularly friendly or accommodating, and the customer service fell far below what should be expected for a premium-priced golf experience. I stand by my original review. Golfers deserve accurate information, the amenities they paid for, and honest communication when problems arise.

Played Legacy Golf Course at Lake Lanier and it did not disappoint. Beautiful layout with several holes right along the shoreline—gorgeous views and refreshing breezes the whole round. Greens were rolling true and fairways in great shape. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Chase who made our check-in smooth and gave great local tips. Highly recommend this public gem in Georgia—can’t wait to play it again!

Truly an incredible experience. Every person who works at Legacy rolls out the carpet for you. Name on carts, free breakfast , water in cart. Everything you need . Gorgeous views. Challenging course. Top 10 course I’ve ever played! Cannot wait to return!
