Description

Barnsley's resort layout, known as The General, uses dramatic elevation to craft a memorable, scenic round. Wide corridors and bold bunkering give you options off the tee, but approaches must be well struck to hold perched green sites. A handful of forced carries add spice without overwhelming average players. Multiple tee boxes make it playable for mixed groups, and conditioning is a point of pride for the resort. It's a photogenic, shot making test that fits a getaway itinerary perfectly.

What an amazing weekend. Our first time at Barnsley and will definitely go back. It is the most relaxing atmosphere. The cottages are perfect. I especially loved how between all the cottages and hotel no cars were allowed. The entire area was walkable. It was picture perfect. You will not be disappointed. Paula Ann Blumsack

First stay at Barnsley, overall an enjoyable experience. The Biergarten is the highlight, centrally located to maximize social experience. Great for Families and kids, they had live music Friday and Saturday night. Food is good, breakfast could use some improvements (waffles are just ok, had no butter which was strange). Did have real maple syrup instead of the fake cheap stuff which was nice. Our disappointment from the weekend was dinner at Jules. Food is mediocre at best and overpriced for that level of quality. Met some locals on Saturday who said they never go there because of their friends underwhelming experiences, wish we would’ve met them earlier during our stay. They need to continue investing in the Biergarten experience, put your best people and food in this area. Tanner and Michael are friendly and we enjoyed getting to know them. Lastly did the Archery and the staff at the Farm was great as well. We’ll be back (just not at Jules)

A memorable experience attending a meeting at the Barnsley resort. We stayed in the cottage, which was so very well appointed very clean and a lovely experience. The meeting went extremely well. The food and beverage was excellent. The service was fantastic. We had events outside despite the cooler temperature and the hotel team could not have been more accommodating. What an awesome place to hold your event. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy it on Leisure weekend.

Barnsley Resort in winter is something special. We stayed in late January and were blown away by how accommodating and intentional everything felt. Fire pits, heaters, cozy cabins with fireplaces—it’s built to make cold weather part of the experience. The resort feels like a small historic village you can wander through, with incredible food, a fun beer garden, and grounds that carry real character and nostalgia. Even without golf, the hiking trails in the cool weather were stunning, and the Beretta clay shooting experience was pure fun. What really stands out is the feeling—steady, grounding, and timeless—while still changing with the seasons. It’s the kind of place you don’t just visit once. You come back again and again, just to see how it feels next time.

We recently stayed at The Inn at Barnsley Resort with our family and had the best time. Patricia at the front desk was a standout — she was so welcoming and quickly became our favorite. We loved sitting by the fire pit at night making s’mores and walking the grounds to take in all the Christmas decorations. The water fountain was iced over and it was magical at night. One day we logged over 10,000 steps without even realizing it! Our boys enjoyed fishing, and we loved seeing all the animals around the property. We ate dinner one evening at The Woodlands, which was very convenient since it’s located on site. Our server was wonderful. While the food wasn’t cooked quite how we hoped — we ordered the chicken and the filet — our son’s burger was delicious. Overall, it was a great stay, and we will definitely be back.
