Venice East was a great golf course! We are visiting from Tennessee and we booked an 8:30 tee time here (18 + cart). Our flight got delayed the night prior and we were running on very little sleep so we accidentally rolled in at like 8:26 so I acknowledged the situation and made light of it as best I could and the staff + starter were very kind about it as well. So, be nice and they'll be nice to you! The grounds are well kept. It is primarily a par 3, the back 9 have some longer holes. You honestly have to be pretty careful not to hit into other players and not to BE hit by other players as the holes are generally on top of each other throughout. However, there are good safety measures in place. TL:DR - Mainly par 3, pace of play is fast, hazards are few, course is in good condition, staff was kind, would return next time or maybe again this week!

This review is for the Venice East Driving Range. There wasn’t a google page for it. My husband and I took our son there! We had a blast. The cost is $10 for a bucket balls. (I forgot to take a picture of the bucket) there were probably 50 balls. The area is clean. There are restrooms and a water fountain.

Looked forward to a great round knowing we would not get a full 18 in due to start time. Told ranger about a dead rat on the 4th tee... Said "not my problem". As we were about to head to the back none with 40 mins left to play, the ranger said we won't have time and should turn in the cart now. He clearly wanted to go home. After the 10th hole, he rode up and said follow me to 18 so you can finish. We had 25 mins left to play. Many greens were full of sand... I can deal with the course in bad shape, but the rangers attitude and decomposing dead animal made for a convincing " never again" experience.

While the sun shade sails are a very good addition to the driving range, before you would even need to update the mats, I highly suggest you put anti-slip rubber pads under the mats so the mats don't move when you hit. A decent player, or anyone with even the smallest amount of beyond geriatric speed and ground reaction forces will make the mat (and thus the ball) move when they hit it. Golf is hard enough with a stationary ball. People don't need to be practicing with a ball that's moving when they swing. That's called tennis. Rubber pads under the thin mats, which are currently laying directly on concrete will also act as a shock absorber. The grass tees area being significantly more leveled and kept with proper grass would also be a good addition, although with how small that area is, I realize it might get chewed up quickly if it was anywhere close to decent. Although most customers are chops who always seem to hit off the mats anyways. Overall, y'all are steadily progressing the range and the multiple rows of targets is a fine addition that many facilities could learn from.

Staff is rude!! Especially if you’re a younger woman, I came out in proper golf attire except my shirt did not have a collar and they made me play in a sweatshirt. When the older (bigger sized) ladies were able to play in tank tops without collars!! It was 86 degrees out 🤣Don’t recommend if you’re young and pretty
