Today was my last day playing at this course. I’ve really enjoyed it over the past two years and even played it 26 times last season. Unfortunately, after today’s experience, I won’t be returning. I understand the course hosts a scramble every weekend around 9 a.m., and I respect that. However, it shouldn’t mean that other golfers lose access to the course or feel pushed aside. When I arrived at hole 9, the scramble group drove up to tee off at the same time I was preparing to play. I brought up the concern to a few employees who were part of the group, simply to express how the situation felt from my perspective. Instead of having a constructive conversation, I was dismissed in a disrespectful way. That interaction made it clear that my business isn’t valued here. I wish the course well moving forward, but I won’t be returning.

3/2 played the Abbey Course. The front nine is definitely the highlight of the round. It’s more scenic, better routed, and takes full advantage of the property’s natural elevation changes. For Florida golf, the rolling terrain is a pleasant surprise and gives several holes some real character. A few of the tee shots on the front are especially memorable, with nice risk-reward decisions and subtle movement in the fairways. The back nine, however, doesn’t quite live up to the front. It feels a bit flatter and less engaging in comparison, and the conditioning back there was a more inconsistent. The greens were in great shape—healthy, smooth, and true—but they were definitely on the slower side. Not a bad thing if you struggle with pace control, but don’t expect lightning-fast tournament speeds. The fairways, on the other hand, could use some work. There were patchy areas and thin spots that made lies inconsistent at times. There’s currently construction going on around the clubhouse, so don’t expect a polished arrival experience right now (ports-potties, shack for a pro shop, etc). That said, it looks like improvements are in progress, which is a good sign for the future of the facility. The driving range is a nice bonus and makes it easy to get loose before your round. Overall, the Abbie Course is great for the price. It offers fun elevation changes you don’t see often in Central Florida, a strong front nine, and solid greens. If the fairways improve and the back nine gets some extra attention, it could easily be a better experience. I’d definitely play it again for the value.

The Abby is my favorite course in the state. I am able to zoom through on a good day and get 18 in at about 1.5 hrs (that isn’t the norm on weekends) fantastic staff, and more than reasonable prices. It is not a difficult course and doesn’t have those pesky sand traps. I love that the course doesn’t take its self seriously if you’re on the PGA or the life of beer league 4 some the Abby is for you! Also the Par 6 is a sight to behold!! Is it regulation? ….well does grizzly Adams have a beard!? Who knows!?! but you will know where to find me most days! I wasn’t stoked about moving to this area till I found this hidden gem. Don’t come here unless you’re ready to dedicate your life to golf and the Abby lifestyle 😉 #MooseApproved

I recently played at Abbey Golf Course for the first time, and I had a great experience overall. The staff were exceptionally friendly, which made me feel welcome right from the start. The pricing was quite reasonable, especially for a Sunday, and I appreciated that there were no players behind us, allowing us to enjoy the day at our own pace. However, I did notice that the grass was quite high, making it challenging to use my irons effectively. This wasn't a major issue for me since I was there to practice and enjoy the game. Additionally, I observed a lack of well-defined sand bunkers, which may be due to recent heavy rains washing them out. On the positive side, there isn't too much water on the course, which I personally prefer. Overall, I would give Abbey Golf Course 4 stars for the friendly atmosphere, good value, and enjoyable conditions to practice, despite the minor concerns with the grass and bunkers. I'll definitely be back!

I've been playing here for years; the course is the best value in central Florida. This is not a country club course, so don't expect all the amenities you'll find in $100+ per round courses. There has been tremendous improvement in the grounds and greens in the past few years. The course offers a good challenge and a relaxed vibe.
