A.C. Read Golf Course's regulation layout in Pensacola comprises 27 championship holes (played in 18-hole combinations: Bayou, Lakeview, and Bayview) that rank among the most scenic and historic public-access tracks in the Florida Panhandle. Routed along Bayou Grande with abundant live oaks, saltwater bayous, and water features on many holes, the course offers a beautiful, challenging test that blends natural hazards with strategic play. Recognized on the Florida Historic Golf Trail, it features rolling fairways, true greens, and panoramic views of Pensacola Bay, creating an immersive experience in a military setting open to the public. The variety across the three nines— from marsh-lined Bayou to oak-shaded Lakeview and newer Bayview—ensures no two rounds feel the same. With excellent conditioning, a full practice facility, and a welcoming vibe, it's a standout destination for serious golfers visiting the area.

Was one of the coolest things I've done playing golf while the blue angels were practicing. You'll need to hit the visitors center and have a tee time for base access. Build in an extra 30 mins if you don't have a pass or military ID Semper Fi

Great place to go for something to do on base. The side by the cart return has no dress code and renting clubs and a cart to play a round will run you less than $30. The side across the road has a dress code, which is just you need a collared shirt to play over there. Theres also a driving range and putting area to practice before you go out. Definitely worth the time and a great experience.

Great military course. Well maintained and usually in pretty good shape. Another plus here is that the beverage cart service is on point; you'll usually see it four or five times per round. The only downside is that you get a lot of hackers out on the weekends who don't necessarily understand etiquette and pace of play. Still, usually a round is under 4.5 hours.

One of the better military courses I've played. I hate to admit that since I'm in the Air Force. Lol. Well maintained and the restaurant and lounge area is really nice. Good water views throughout the course. My buddy couldn't stay out of the rough, but I had good views while waiting for him to make it to the greens.
