I hadn’t played at Metro West in at least 10 years because the last time I played it was lacking grass and the entire course looked like it lacked love. So I was pleasantly surprised on May 16th that the course looked and felt like someone had given it the love it deserved - the greens (aerated) were lush, and the whole course looked like they were trying very hard to restore this Robert Trent Jones Sr. design by giving it the love and care it deserved. If they keep on giving it some more love, the summer rains are going to help restore this wonderful layout and the wonderful elevation changes. I wish the high rise apartments that surround the course didn’t block the view of the downtown skyline, but the area feels full of life and that energy may be helping energize the course. Come give this classic another try - I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Whenever I visit orlando this is my course to play.i love the design by Robert Trent jones senior ) elevated greens, dogleg left and right , elevation changes , which is unusual for orlando area.challenging but fair.the 9th hole is a beauty ( John Daly hit his tee shot over water on to green on the 9 hole In the 1990’s) the greens were in good condition. This means a nice roll not to fast not to slow. Just great roll. Balls landed on green and rolled a few feet ( with divots) sand was in good shape . Fairways good not great. Tee areas need some work. But for the price $60-$70 ( week day Monday - friday During March) . This is a bargain! The people who work here Mike Gene etc are very friendly. . All the golf I need is right on this course. The best part is the incredible layout!! So classic. Trent jones!!

It can great again it owners took the time and money to make it so. Tee boxes are in bad shape. Fairways need more consistent care, too many bare areas now. Don't seem to do enough to keep non players off course during the rounds. Last week there were boys with ebikes riding throughout the course . Driving range has been down several times recently because the "picker" was down. Grace in the bar and the cart girls are great. Bag guys are good as are the starters, would like to see a ranger on course more regularly.

Course is in absolutely garbage shape. Played 18 on 6/20/26. Cannot tell the difference between the rough and the fairway. Crabgrass everywhere on the tee boxes, fairways and fringe. Rate was only $60 but still no where near worth it. It reminds me of what I imagine an abandoned course would look like. Overgrown with weeds and dirt and sand and minimal playable lies. Even a simple mow, which is clearly being neglated, could improve the course somewhat. Greens were in decent shape in comparison to the rest of the course.

Honestly most of the reviews about this course you read are accurate. The staff is nice, especially Zane outside helping with the carts, offered to help with our bags and even spotted my range finder sticking to the side of the cart or else I would've forgot it. The course the isn't in the best shape, but definitely playable. I personally think the greens could have been a bit better. You could tell the punched ones held up better. The sprinkles were definitely running on multiple holes. So take it or leave it!
