This course was an absolute disgrace to golf. I can’t believe I paid $70 to play here. I played the forest course and it was horrible. Almost all the greens had dead spots all over. The tee boxes were just sand with barely any grass. Luckily I didn’t get to test any of the bunkers. The only good thing about this place was the workers brought your cart to your vehicle. The cart girl came around once in 18 holes. I don’t know when golf courses stopped giving a shit but the owner should be so disappointed to own this place. If they pay a greenskeeper he should be fired immediately. I wouldn’t come back here if it was free. This course has a great layout and great potential but it’s genuinely horrible right now. I would be ashamed to work at this course. If you are visiting Florida do not play here.

Never leave reviews for anything, especially a course but this was the most pathetic excuse for a course I’ve played in all of Tampa. $70 for a 8:40am tee time on a Friday morning. Get there at 745am and they are out of range balls… then play on what you see in the pictures. Played 9 and left it was so bad. Might as well have played on a parking lot covered in dirt. They should’ve paid me to play here. They should be embarrassed.

DO NOT GOLF HERE. I’ve golfed this course many times but haven’t been back in over a year because the conditions were starting to go down. I tried it again today to see if things turned around and can safely say it will be my last time playing this course. $85 greens fees for a course that isn’t worth $25. As my pictures show, every single green is almost unplayable and the tee boxes are no better. For the money; it might be the single worst value in the Tampa Bay area. Avoid and go literally anywhere else, it will either be cheaper or in better condition.

Charging $90 for this pitiful excuse of a golf course is CRIMINAL. These are photos of holes that were OPEN for play. One hole was already closed down, but -apparently these two were just good enough to allow play. First picture is a green side bunker, second photo is the middle of a fairway. Also, it hasn’t rained in WEEKS— the water is from a sprinkler head left on in the middle of the bunker, flooding the course. I didn’t even think to take a picture of the greens because I started focusing more on beer than golf about 5 holes in. But if you want a visual— imagine what a shaggy carpet would look like after a stray dog vomits on it. That pretty much sums it up. I don’t know what happened to this course— whether they are under new management, having financial trouble, or simply don’t care anymore. I do not know. It’s a shame because for as long as I can remember I used to love coming out to play here. Sad to see the state of things now.

I was invited to join my grandson and son-in-law on a golf day. They play, I’m a spectator. 2 golf carts. Some excitement occurred right when heading to Hole 1: the starter had spotted an alligator. Gator went a different way, and we were off. The first bridge was rickety but not for long: it is going to be repaired this month. The course wanders around some beautiful homes that must have a golf ball or two fall on a roof or lawn. Not from us. Living in the course area, the cart and I enjoyed the golf game going on while I learned the nuances the course takes; an imaginative course that creates challenges for a weekend golfer. A piece of luck: a young woman brought cold drinks, food, and frozen novelties that really helped the day as the heat was definitely a summer day. The son-in-law graciously bought these life savers. As in a long trip, make sure you’ve visited the bathrooms before heading out. The greens aren’t Augusta level, but for a fun time, with challenges, The Eagles Golf Club will stay with you. Then, wrapping up, get in the restaurant there and enjoy cold drinks and warm sandwiches. Now, 10 months later, the new management has done a lot to bring the course to a much higher rating. Far more mowing and tending greens, far more attention to details. The fairways (except for a statewide period of drought) look beautiful and sand traps are cleaned with regularity. Get out there and enjoy. . .
