Relative to the other courses in the area, I was impressed with the condition, friendliness of the staff and pace of play. Fairways and greens were in great shape, bunkers were full of sand ( not hard-packed, neglected). Would highly recommend if you're in the area.

I WAS a member here. Let me tell you, the reviews are correct. The homeowner members are atrocious. As a member I was always asked if I “lived on property” by other members and they would point out their house as we pasted it on hole X. I won’t discuss average home prices in Niceville.🤣 It used to be a country club back in the day. Then they went public because they ran out of money. They have recently decided to go back to a semi-private country club, which is when I left because of the rate hike and attitude of the board members. They are still broke so they allow the public to come in for a high green fee for an AVERAGE course. Good layout, mind you, but average for Florida. Point is, they want to be private, but can’t, because the “platinum” members don’t donate enough.🤣 If you want to play a nice round of golf, drive over the Mid-Bay Bridge and play one of the 7 courses in Destin/Miramar beach. They actually appreciate your patronage.

The course itself is beautiful and well maintained, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by several members whose behavior was completely unacceptable. Our group was visiting from out of town and was hit into five different times within the first nine holes. We maintained a steady pace of play and never lost sight of the group ahead. At the turn, we decided to grab a quick bite to allow a faster group to play through, but when we returned to the 10th tee, another group of members approached us aggressively, claiming it was an “unwritten rule” that players aren’t allowed to stop at the turn mid-round. We calmly offered to let them play through, but one member began yelling, insisting that “wasn’t the point.” As part of our group continued ahead, the same member drove past us, teed off from the yellow box in the middle of our group, and claimed he had “called the president” who gave him permission to do so. It was an incredibly disrespectful and unsafe encounter that reflected poorly on the club’s membership culture. Overall, this is a great course with courteous staff and excellent conditions—but unless management addresses the entitled and rude behavior of certain members, I would hesitate to recommend it to visiting players.

Rocky Bayou it’s self is a beautiful course. But the members they have there are unbearable. We played 18 hours and we had members coming up tell us we had to let them play thru because the president of the course said. Also had members tell us they hope we don’t come back because we stop for a hot dog at the turn. Had four different altercations with stuck up members that think they are better than everyone else. Good course, good staff, but the members made the experience unbearable.

Gorgeous golf course in Niceville! Such a hidden Gem you can tell as your driving up to the course how gorgeous this place is! My husband and I actually had our wedding reception here and the staff were wonderful! Also the chef catered our wedding and the food was amazing!! Also the price was very good compared to other venues in the area we had looked at!
