Loblolly Golf Club (formerly known as Loblolly Pines) is an ultra-exclusive private club in Hobe Sound, featuring an acclaimed 18-hole championship course designed by Pete Dye and P.B. Dye, opened in 1988 and refurbished in 2023 by Jim Urbina to restore original details. The layout is a standout seaside Florida design on a tight triangular property near a wildlife refuge and the Atlantic, with narrow tilted greens, deep bunkers, rambling fairway movement from excavated sand dunes up to 40 feet high, waste areas, and strategic angles that make positioning critical. It plays to around 7,006 yards from the back tees as a par 72 (slope 145, rating ~74–75), with highlights like double-dogleg holes, drivable par-4s, Alps-style approaches, and dramatic par-3s over elevation changes. The course is celebrated for its ingenuity, conditioning, and pure golf focus in a low-key, elite setting. Members enjoy premium facilities, privacy, and one of Florida's top-ranked private tracks in the booming Hobe Sound golf corridor.

This is the best place to grab a bite to eat and to play a few holes.

When it comes to golf course, Loblolly shines above the rest. With stout local competition like McArthur, Medalist, Jupiter Hills, etc., Loblolly’s golf course takes the cake. Pete/PB Dye design, completely renovated in 2023-24 (~12M) by Jim Urbina. The course has all new grass, tiff eagle greens, a great mix of holes, new bulkheads, cleaner lines/views, and is not your typical Florida golf with elevation changes, lots of undulations, and it is perfectly manicured. Fair, but stern test with a great stretch of finishing holes into the clubhouse. The course is private, so a personal invite or summer reciprocal will be necessary to access. Carts, caddies, rental clubs, nice turn/halfway house, and an awesomely stocked golf shop round out the course experience. Pro staff is friendly and accommodating. Newly 25M renovation to the clubhouse is an added bonus.

Great layout, fun course to play. The caddies were fantastic. If you get an invite, I wouldn't turn it down!

Nice golf course, extremely disappointed in the food. When I play golf, I look forward to a good meal afterwards and this place simply doesn’t deliver. It touts itself as having high a quality menu but I honestly thought I was eating high school cafeteria food. Rethink your menu and who’s ever in charge of the kitchen. This would be a four star review if not for the inedible food.
