Description

Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island is a scenic semi-private/public championship course designed by Clyde Johnston, set amid a forest of 60-foot pines and tranquil lakes for a peaceful Northeast Florida round. The par-72 layout features rolling Bermuda fairways, multi-tiered TifEagle greens, and a mix of grass and white sugar sand bunkers that demand precision across six tee options. Surrounded by natural beauty just minutes from Jacksonville, it offers outstanding conditioning and a resort-like feel. The course suits various skill levels with strategic variety. Eagle Harbor delivers elegant, nature-immersed golf in Clay County.

This is exactly what I would expect and then some at a place calling themselves a professional style golf club. The course was challenging but not overly hard. Each hole had its own uniqueness, the course is very well groomed and the greens are in some of the best shape on any course I've been too. Everyone was very well dressed, mannered, and followed proper etiquette that is to be expected on a good course. The club house is very clean, cool and the food, drinks and green fees are very well priced for the type of course this is. They had no problems with us bringing our own drinks and cooler with us or a strange as it may sound to avid golfers taking the cart to our car to get our golf clubs and things. (I won't mention any names but I've been to at least 3 other courses since moving back here. 2 of which are so run down i can't believe they are called courses That had major problems with all of these things. Even bringing water as to not pass out and another thier parking lot you literally drive right by on your way to the tees but don't you dare stop at your car you could probably touch going by if you tried hard enough. You will be removed from the course.) Thier club house restaurant i believe called Talons was extremely nice with food our whole party loved, big screen T.V.s, ATM, open bar and golf shop. They also offer lessons by PGA certified instructors. The place was not overly crowded and it was extremely easy to get a tee time even on father's day. My only complaints are there is a sign that states no driving off course on holes 1,5,17 and 18 but our cart automatically went to crawl speed anyway(They have electronic screens and GPS units in each cart that will slow your cart if you try to take it where its not suppose to be.) on at least 7 other holes (not all but most) when we tried to leave the cart path to get our golf balls. Also this is the first place I've seen that had screens in the carts that you can interact with that tell you how far from the hole you are, how far you hit the ball, the hole layout, and you can even order food before getting to the club house if you want. Pretty ingenious and nifty i think. Anyhow there was a duck that looked like it got ran over by the lawn mower on the 16th hole and just left there by the grounds crew. Lastly most professional style courses I've been to have a drink/cart person that goes around selling drinks and this is a huge course that could use one. Other than those small things we were very pleased and we even had a beginner who had her first time on a course today and she had a blast. (They also have special tee boxes set up on each hole for beginners to use so it makes the course way less challenging for them.) Which is a great thing because there are a ton of houses on the sides of almost every hole. We are thinking of getting memberships here so if you are looking for a club/course to call home that won't burn your wallet up check this place out. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Played 1/7/24. Traveling from Ohio and really enjoyed the course. Loved the layout here, super fast greens and appeared the course was taken care of rather well. Would recommend to anyone in the area to check it out.

Played here recently on a golf trip with my guys. The drive in and up to the club house is amazing. The staff throughout the facility is top tier. Very welcoming, informative and professional. The course was in great shape and maintained. The breakfast biscuits are top of the line and the absolute best I’ve had at a golf course hands down.

Wish I wasn't writing this review but feel the need. I've always enjoyed this course, and never had an issue until today. I get that we had rain and the whole front nine was cart path only and a complete disaster. But how bout letting us play the back nine twice. And how about telling us that 3 or 4 of those holes had temporary tee boxes. Of course you aren't going tell us and still charge a couple old seniors $61 to play. Just be straight up with us and let us decide whether we still play it or not. Guy on the phone said course was in great condition. I no it doesn't matter, but I won't be back!
