I hate leaving bad reviews, but I genuinely do not understand the hype about this course, especially for the money. We played the North Course and the front nine of the South Course in early July 2026. I'll start with the positives (1) the greens were punched 3 weeks prior, so they were in great condition. (2) The course layout is fun and difficult, with a lot of elevation changes, tight greens, etc. Unfortunately, that's where the list ends. On to the negatives: (1) the complimentary range was a joke - you're playing shots out of the dirt, it doesn't look like it has been maintained AT ALL. (2) The tee boxes were in absolutely horrendous condition. I've only ever seen tee boxes that bad once before on a short course I paid $15 for. Even Mangrove Bay, a municipal golf course that I pay $50 for and gets MUCH more play than this course, has better tee boxes. (3) The fairways are patchy; in some areas the grass is immaculate, but there are large areas in the center of the fairway that are literal dirt throughout the course. (4) Chipping is incredibly difficult on certain holes because, as you can probably guess, you're chipping out of straight dirt. (5) There is no "turn" after the front 9 on the North Course; you don't return to the clubhouse until after you finish your round. As such, there is no way to refill on drinks or get food (the restaurant does not deliver to the North Course); if you want any food or drinks you'll have to wait for the cart girl to come around...we only saw her once our entire round (on hole 3). (6) This con is more anecdotal, as there was a tournament going on at the South Course while we played, but we were given old, terrible golf carts that did not even have sand to fill your divots. (7) There are ZERO ball-cleaning stations around the course. (8) They are charging such outrageous prices for a course that I would not pay more than $60 in prime season. The course layout is really cool (especially on some of the holes on the South Course), but I was truly shocked and utterly disappointed with the condition that the course was in, and with all the people who recommended this course to me. At least at private courses where you're paying +$200 you feel like you're getting your money's worth, but there is just no way I could ever justify paying the $112 I paid for here ever again. If I were a member, I would be irate with how the club has maintained these courses. So much potential, such poor execution. For those of you looking for a good course for slightly cheaper, Diamond Hill is better than this course and Dunedin is leagues above for ~$90 as well.

I really don’t like leaving negative reviews and I have only written about 3 reviews my entire life — I rarely have bad experiences anywhere — but I left this round feeling disappointed, especially at $120. The course itself is beautiful, no question. But the service didn’t match the quality of the layout. My group made it through 11 holes before a heavy storm rolled in. We even played the 12th in pouring rain and lightning before deciding it wasn’t safe to continue. When we asked for a rain check for the back nine, they declined. Given how aggressive the weather was and how expensive this course is, that was tough to hear. The range situation didn’t help either. It’s advertised as complimentary, but the bins were basically empty. We each got maybe 5–10 warm‑up swings before the balls ran out. The roped‑off chipping area was also in noticeably rough shape, even though there’s plenty of well‑kept space around it. That specific section really needs to be moved or refreshed. I’m not trying to pile on — the course is genuinely beautiful — but the overall experience didn’t live up to the price, and that’s disappointing.

North course at lake jovita. $110 for this is outrageous in July for 11:30 tee time. I get there hasn’t been much rain but every hole was like this. Middle of fairway and right around the greens should not be in this rough of shape. If it’s going to be this way, the round should cost $60 if that. Also, with the north course you should send the cart girl around more than just one time since it doesn’t go back to the clubhouse at all.

Amazing experience, this course we played South and it accommodated our skill level. The views are out of this world, the staff is super friendly, all meals and drinks are super well balanced. Try the Southwest bowl with chicken or shrimp, priced great and taste awesome.

Beautiful executive level golf course with beautiful landscape and layout. Nature all around. Highly recommend if you’re in Tampa.
