This has to be the worst ran course in lower Delaware. We played there today which was exactly 2 months from the last time I played there. The fairways were either weeds or dirt. They aerated the greens but didn’t post it anywhere and let us know after we paid. What they failed to tell us was that all of the tee boxes were closed as well, which they waited until they rushed us off the driving range and to the first tee 15 minutes before our tee time. And we sat waiting for almost 25 minutes before we could even tee off. I’m glad we got this nightmare out of the way today, we were going to play it as one of our 4 round golf trip in a few weeks but at the end of my round we went into the pro shop and cancelled the tee time. No one should play this course. Courses like the rookery will keep my business since they are consistently well maintained for not much more on the cost side. We all honestly felt like we were robbed today.

Long and narrow course. Lots of trees to hit! Tricky greens depending on flag placement. Senior discounts on Monday and Thursday. Connected to Big Oyster brewery and restaurant. All new facilities.

So went there w my wife to drive balls. Bought a large bucket. Was told could only hit from mats. Ok, but there were no rubber T's in the mats we were allowed 2 use. Went back and I was told regular T's will work in mats. I already tried and said No they don't. Told by employee, 'I've done it, It works'. Went back out. No it didn't. Walked back in w bucket of balls and put bucket on counter. Doesn't work. Employee just shrugged his shoulders. I left. Not how to treat customers.

Has potential, but greens and tee boxes and some spots of fairway are in need of improvement. Rough was very easy to lose balls in, which I understand can be part of the challenge of a course, but you should not have to spend 3 minutes looking for a ball that is 2 ft off the back of the green because the grass was hiding the ball. Played mid week around 1230 and it was $70, was definitely not worth 70, maybe in the 45-50 range with the condition of the course. You can tell that they are working on improving the conditions, maybe next summer it will be better.

I thoroughly enjoyed this golf course. The greens are in great shape. Offered all you need for the everyday golfer. I will certainly travel to play this course from Fenwick. One reason is SDGC is very reasonable priced compared to the courses in West OC and surrounding area. Way overpriced. Highly recommend SDGC.
