Longshore is a highly popular municipal course in Westport with a true “public golf on premium real estate” feel, sitting close to the coast and within a large park setting. The course offers 18 holes that can be very playable for casual golfers, but it becomes demanding when conditions are firm and you’re missing greens in the wrong spots. It’s also one of the busier tee sheets in the region, which gives it that energetic muni atmosphere—lots of regulars, lots of leagues, and a steady mix of skill levels. The setting is a major part of the charm: you feel like you’re playing a community asset that’s bigger and more scenic than most municipal courses. Overall, Longshore is a standout Connecticut muni—accessible, well-loved, and defined by both location and volume of play.

The course is long and flat but that doesn’t make it boring. The holes have unique greens and the placement of bunkers makes each hole interesting and challenging.

Decent course but they literally took our golf carts after the 16th hole with 30 minutes of light left and wouldn’t drive my buddy back to the 17th hole. Odd behavior.

Course is playing very nicely, well maintained during this dry period. Greens roll true although a little slower.. Stay out of the tall grasses and the rough is thick!

I grew up on this course. I’ve always loved it. They keep it in great condition and it’s had some very nice upgrades over the past couple decades. Great for all abilities. 🏌️‍♂️♾️
