Birchwood Country Club in Westport is known for delivering a true club experience on a compact footprint, with golf that feels more strategic than sprawling. The course is a 9-hole layout that’s designed to be played as 9 or looped as 18, and it’s built to present different looks through multiple teeing options. The setting is rolling and parkland-like, and it tends to reward accuracy and thoughtful course management rather than pure power. Birchwood is also recognized for high-quality conditioning for a course of its size, especially on and around the greens. Overall, it’s a classic “busy-family private club” that makes it easy to get a high-quality round in without an all-day commitment.

Yummy food, great service. The seafood buffet over Labor Day weekend was decadent.

Great course for people like me who don't have 5 or 6 hours to devote to golf. Located downtown Westport, Birchwood's the best 2 hour round in CT. Plus, great staff and top restaurant!
