East Mountain is a public 18-hole course in Waterbury known for its rolling terrain and a layout that can feel more challenging than its yardage suggests. Elevation changes and side slopes create plenty of uneven lies, so it often tests your ability to control contact and trajectory—especially with long irons and hybrids. The routing typically offers memorable moments and a few holes where you’ll want to replay the shot selection in your head afterward. As a municipal-style public course, it has a practical, no-fuss vibe that focuses on value and getting you around. If you like courses where the land does most of the work and every hole asks for a slightly different stance and shape, East Mountain is a strong fit.

What a gem! I recently discovered this course. Loved everything about it. The course was well manicured, the locker rooms are a nice touch and very clean, great bar and food. I can't finish the review without mentioning how friendly EVERY staff member was that we interacted with. Will definitely be making the drive to play this course again!

The course itself is fine, could use some repairs but could be worse. The problem is almost every time I play 18 here they let some idiot start off the back and it the round goes from moving at a decent pace to crawling. I get they wanna make money but letting people off the back ruins rounds for others and the course has to know that. Avoid if you can.

Great city owned course! Good food. Tough holes 🕳 on back 9.

Fun course and very reasonable.

Good course. Needs more TLC, especially considering the cost (even for local residents).
