River Ridge is a public daily-fee course in Jewett City that offers a full 18-hole round with a relaxed, local vibe. The course tends to play fair and approachable, but it still demands smart decisions—especially if water or tree lines come into play and you’re trying to force aggressive lines. It’s a popular spot for repeat play and leagues, which often means the best experience comes from treating it as a “learn it over time” course where course management improves your scoring quickly. The setting feels distinctly eastern Connecticut—quiet, green, and removed once you’re out on the holes. Overall, River Ridge is dependable public golf: enjoyable, good value, and built for regular rounds rather than one-time spectacle.

Went to Tillis Pub. Very good drinks and the fishamagig sandwich was excellent! The classic burger very nicely cooked. And the staff were great too!

We have been here numerous times. Today for Father's Day there's some pretty neat specials like a hamburger on a glazed donut for a bun. Interesting twist

Great course with very good food. It was a nice 18 hole course with a variety of different holes, mostly of easier difficulty. The staff here was friendly and the price per round was very fair at $65 for 18 with cart included. The restaurant in the clubhouse was very good, and I heard from other golfers that people come to the course just for the restaurant since the food is so good. Overall great experience and the course is located pretty close to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos.

8 minute tee times on a Friday equate to 6 hr rounds. We quit after 10 and will not be back. Stopped in the restaurant, foods great. But just come for the food.

I’ve been a member at River Ridge for a few years now and it’s one of my favorite courses in the area. The course is always in great shape, the staff is friendly, and the practice area is perfect for warming up or working on your game. The clubhouse restaurant is also a huge plus — easily one of the best spots to eat around here whether you’re golfing or not. Overall, it’s a great atmosphere and a course I always enjoy coming back to.
