Gilead Highlands at Blackledge is the “newer” counterpart to Anderson’s Glen, offering a distinct 18-hole experience on the same property in Hebron. The routing tends to feel a bit more modern in shaping and variety, with holes that ask you to commit to lines and then execute into greens that can be demanding. It’s still very much an all-skill-level course, but it can bite when you’re sloppy—especially when you miss to the wrong side or get out of rhythm off the tee. As part of a 36-hole public facility, it’s also a strong choice for outings and high-volume days because there’s room to spread play across two courses. If you’re summarizing it: Gilead Highlands is the sharper-edged, modern-feeling complement to Anderson’s Glen, and together they make Blackledge one of the more complete public golf destinations in Connecticut.

Course was in great shape! Played Gilead and enjoyed the the round. Groups were spread out nicely and we enjoyed 18 in under 4 hours! Will definitely return! Had a coupon and well worth the price.

Drove an hour n 20 minutes from springfield MA. Only to find out no carts were allowed and all push parts are rented on a Sunday!..2 people were handicapped in our group.. no email or voicemail was sent after booking 7 days in adavance..y .had to drive an hour an 20 minutes back to mill valley in Belchertown ma to play a course with carts...I get we have had rain but they should send email or post on website that their are no carts...it's ridiculous that somebody should drive an hour and twenty minutes to figure this out in 2023! Get with the times blackledge! ⁴

We had a threesome, 5:20pm tee off. Got there at around 5 and luckily there was no one on the 10th hole so we could tee off few minutes early. Sunset was at around 7:30. Plenty of time. First the positives. Person at the pro shop was nice enough and courteous. Course condition was immaculate - clean tee boxes, fairways were well groomed, and the greens were also well taken care of. You could see that they irrigated the greens last fall and all the punched holes were pretty much plugged. Some greens were fast while some weren't. Negatives. Keep in mind we are playing 9 holes and all three of us are experienced golfer - we can move quickly. The foursome in front of got stuck and we got stuck. Turns out there were two groups in front of us that were SUPER SLOW. No rangers to check on them. We were determined to finish the course. By the time I got to my car, it was 8 o'clock. FULL 3 hours later. Wow. It was painful to wait 5~10 minutes at every hole. If you've played here previously, you know that these are not difficult holes. Anyways, I'm not sure if I want to go back to this course again. If someone pays for me, yes, definitely, or if I'm getting a great deal, but otherwise, I don't think I'll go back anytime soon.
