First time at this track and I was very satisfied. Course was in overall great condition (8.5/10) and provided a fun round. There are several challenging holes that make you play smart. Greens do not roll fast here.

I usually love the Griff, been playing there for years. The rangers have become quite aggressive and rude, specifically the small man with the white mustache. I was on the verge of getting my personal lowest score of all time, it was 4:20pm on a Saturday with at least 30 minutes of light left and my ball was 50 feet from the 18th green when he aggressively drove his cart up cutting me off and screamed at me to pick my ball up and get off the course. I tried to ask if I could finish out but he yelled at me again. I said I knew there were no carts on the course behind us as well and he said he didn’t care if I was God and that I needed to get of the course now. It really stinks when you love a place so much and there’s a small little bitter man there to ruin it for you when you look forward to it all week. The little bitter man should never be put in a position of authority, he clearly abuses it and is hostile and aggressive on top of everything.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Griffith E. Harris features a par‑71 layout defined by significant elevation change and two nines with distinct character. The routing makes full use of the natural terrain, requiring thoughtful strategy and controlled ball striking. Greens are contoured and demanding, placing importance on precise approach play. Practice facilities include a driving range, chipping area, and putting green, supporting both competitive rounds and practice sessions. The course maintains a traditional municipal presentation, with efficient operations and a focus on golf over ancillary amenities. Griffith E. Harris stands out as one of the more architecturally demanding public courses in the region, offering strong value for players seeking a classic design challenge.

Well kept course and was in good shape considering the early season. The greens were in good condition but they were quite slow. This probably due to early season condition. Im sure as the weather warms and the grass is in full growth that frequency of mowing will increase and rolling of the greens will result in faster and reliable conditions.

Most golf courses, get a bad wrap for the attitude of their staff. The people that work and operate the Griff, I can’t say enough about them. Such a kind and supportive team.
