Coming from California to Pueblo I was looking for a reasonably priced golf course. Elmwood fit the bill, The golf course was in great shape the greens we're well taken care of, Randal in the pro shop made me feel right at home. I truly appreciated the hospitality also Gary the starter was quite helpful. I had a great experience this is a must play golf course if you're in Pueblo. This is a walkable course I did choose to ride however as I'm still getting used to the altitude. Thank you again Elmwood for a great experience 👍

For under forty dollars with a cart, you get a surprisingly challenging layout, excellent pace of play, and a fun experience for golfers of all skill levels. While the facility has its shortcomings, the overall package is absolutely worth the visit. The pro shop is one of the weaker elements of the course, earning a C. It’s functional but sparse, with limited merchandise and not much to browse before your round. It gets the job done, but that’s about it. The practice facilities, unfortunately, fall well below expectations. The only redeeming feature is the quality of the range balls, which are actually better than what some higher‑end courses provide. Everything else struggles. The mats are extremely old, octagon‑shaped, and poorly designed, with the tee fixed in the center. For taller players — at six feet tall, I experienced this firsthand — hitting driver means your back foot ends up off the mat entirely. The range surface is mostly dirt, which is understandable given Colorado’s drought restrictions, and the practice green is decent but not enough to elevate the overall grade beyond a D. Once you get onto the course, things improve significantly. The layout earns a B and is far more challenging than it appears at first glance. While there are minimal bunkers and no water hazards, the tree‑lined fairways demand accuracy off the tee. Miss your line, and you’ll find yourself punching out from under branches. The greens are small, requiring precise approach shots, and the routing is logical and very walkable. It’s a course that offers both challenge and accessibility, with multiple tee boxes to accommodate players of all skill levels. The pace of play was outstanding — an easy A+. Playing as a twosome, we were rarely held up, and any brief pauses were actually welcome moments to reset. It’s refreshing to see a municipal course maintain such a smooth flow. The 19th hole earns a B. The atmosphere is friendly, and most of the staff was welcoming. One waitress was openly complaining about another, which wasn’t ideal, but the server I had was excellent — kind, courteous, and attentive. Course conditions were mixed but trending upward. Tee boxes sit at a C for now, though several appear to be under repair and should improve to a B or even an A in the near future. Greens also rate a C; they’re small and playable, but the real issue is the number of unfixed pitch marks. Fairways were in good shape, earning a B, and while I didn’t find a bunker during my round, their condition remains unknown. Despite the criticisms, Elmwood Golf Course earns a solid B+ overall because of its exceptional value. For the price, you get a fun, challenging, and accessible round of golf with excellent pace of play and a layout that keeps you engaged from start to finish. It’s a great little course that offers something for both experienced players and newcomers, and it’s absolutely worth the visit.

This is a public course, but it’s impossible for the general public to get a tee time before 11am on a Saturday or other prime day. Catch up with the times and go with a first come, first serve online booking system.

Just had a fantastic experience at Elmwood Golf Course! Even without a tee time, the pro shop staff was super friendly and directed me to the starter, who got me on the course in just 10 minutes. As a single walk-on, that was a great start! This was my first time playing Elmwood, and I was impressed. The course was in excellent condition. The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and even the rough were well-maintained. The greens were challenging without being too fast. The layout is open, but the trees lining the course add a nice touch. I played the 18-hole course, but I noticed they also have an executive 9-hole option. Overall, Elmwood is a great course, and having just moved to Pueblo from Texas, I'm seriously considering getting a yearly pass. Highly recommend checking this course out.

I really liked this old-school municipal course in Pueblo. It played surprisingly long, and the rough was thick from the recent rain. Could be in overall better shape, but for the price, it gets the 5 stars!!
