This is a great low key resort without the costs, crowds & lift lines, of other Colorado resorts, but Granby doesn’t have the vast terrain of other resorts either, but that’s ok. It’s a different experience, and worth while! I had so much fun night skiing with family, including young nieces/nephews and this was the perfect place for it. Easy parking, great bar & excellent service.

During our recent visit to Granby Ranch, I happened to be in the middle of reading Unreasonable Hospitality—and I found myself thinking at nearly every interaction how well that philosophy was being lived out here. From check-in, to the restaurant and bar, to the rental and ski school teams, the level of care and friendliness was consistent and genuine. We chose Granby Ranch specifically because of what we’d heard about the family-friendly and kid-focused atmosphere, and it absolutely delivered. This trip was about introducing our 6-year-old daughter, Quinn, to skiing for the first time—and from the very start, the experience exceeded expectations. When checking in for rentals, Liv immediately connected with Quinn, who was understandably a bit nervous. With kindness, patience, and charm, Liv put her completely at ease. What made the experience even more special was discovering that Liv would also be Quinn’s instructor that morning. Once again, she created a calm, welcoming environment—by the time they headed out, Quinn felt like she was skiing with a new friend. Later that same day, we booked another private lesson with Liv so Quinn could continue building confidence with someone she already trusted. It made all the difference. On our final day, Quinn participated in a group lesson with Vinnie, who was equally fantastic—bringing his own fun, engaging style that kept the learning positive and exciting. Overall, for anyone with kids learning to ski, we can’t recommend Granby Ranch enough. We’ll absolutely be back—our 2-year-old is already eager to hit the slopes like her big sister. Thank you, Granby Ranch, for such a memorable experience.

truly the best place to learn how to ski / ride. The right amount of slopes with good variety of difficulty and terrain styles. Some amazing placement of trick parks. Nice restaurant at base and fun food truck up top - try the doughnut holes with the mountain views at sunset!

We decided to give Granby ranch a try Since the Lyft tickets are so affordable, and it was close to where we were renting a cabin. It was a beautiful sunny day, parking was free and was right there near the lodge and ticket counter. There was no lines to get on the chairlift and the snow conditions were excellent. We would go back in a heartbeat! Plus those Fried cheese curds Were delicious!

Sorry, I tried to shorten this reading as best I could. For the past 25+ years our family has been celebrating Xmas and new years at Grandby. We love this family resort not so big and touristy. However, noticing a slight modification for the main lift (for green and blue hills), where the ski lift stops up the hills skiers fell down from these steep hills (they used to be more flattened). On Monday 12/29 we witnessed a mid age male skier fell and injured his ankle as soon as he got off the lift from the steep hill. Stretcher took him to the base and then was transported away by the ambulance. On Tuesday 12/30 our youngest daughter a teacher who has been snowboarding since she’s 16 got off the same lift and fell on the steep hill. She cracked her left knee. We took her to a medical center and got her knee braces and crutches. She’s done for this trip on her second day. We waited a whole year for skiing and snowboarding this trip. We all are seasoned and experienced skiers and snowboarders. We can’t imagine how the beginners and less experienced skiers survived those steep hills. No way one can ski off from the lift when the resort packed 4 on one lift, especially there were 3 snowboarders and 1 skiers on the same lift. Our suggestion to Grandby resort management is 1. To restrict to a maximum 2 snowboarders and skiers, per lift and 2. Flattened the hills at the ski lift stops up on the hill. This is a safety issue. This will reduce the number of injuries so we can have a fun and safe winter skiing vacation without any negative impacts. Thank you for your support, understanding and consideration.
