I love this course. This is my home course and the staff is amazing they have the newest clubs to use and test out. The older white gentleman who I believe is the manger of the place is amazing has always made me feel at home. There’s a putting, chipping, and driving range. The 18 is amazing and green. The bad reviews will come from the greens. They have been in bad shape as of late but I was notified that there is a new greens keeper and that things are about to turn around. Other than that this place maybe one of the nicest courses in the 559. I love the flowing river that goes through the course. Truly is a beautiful course.

Sherwood has very nice greens. They are smooth and fast and they roll true. The fairways are in good shape too. Most of the time the lies are very playable. There are quite a few water holes, especially on the back nine. Hole 14 is a par five where you have decide whether to lay up on your second shot or try and get over the river in two. The risk-reward factor can make it a difficult decision. Hole 17 is a tough par three with a pond right in front of the green. The hole is about 165 yards from the white tees and the tee shot can be challenging. All in all it’s a great golf course in a beautiful setting.

Overall this course has come a LONG way pretty quickly. Greens are looking better than every and there is great work being done to the fairways. It's a challenging narrow course that is a lot of fun to play. Right by the river for a good amount of the holes and you have it running through one of their par 5s! Love the views, tee management is usually pretty good but it can get backed up during peak times like any other course. Friendly staff with good food and drinks.

Players beware: We played yesterday and found that the current green conditions are extremely bad. We have played here many times over the years, and this is the worst I’ve ever seen it on this course. Almost every green we played on was full of weeds and patches of dirt. The staff did warn us when we arrived that the greens were bad and they had some kind of disease, but I feel it should have also been noted on their website and/or when you book your tee times over the phone. The playing conditions are definitely not worth paying the full price of $55 and should be reduced for players if you still decide to play (just my 2 cents).

BEWARE. Let’s just start from ground zero. The driving range boxes are in terrible shape. You’ll be hitting off of sandy dirt and giant divots. I go because it’s close to home and easily accessible, but that’s the only reason. Next, we have some of the most uneven sloppy tee boxes a course can have. Not to mention you can barely get a tee in the grass with how hard the ground is. Fairways are 50% dirt. You can hit a good tee shot and expect to be in some nice fairway grass, just to find out you’re hitting off a patchy dry jumble of weeds. Fringes are almost non existsent. Bunkers are hard packed. Greens are bumpy and patchy, and overgrown. Any time we play there we’re taking 5-6 foot gimmes because nothing there is doing anything consistent. Then we get to the turn and stop for some food, end up paying 12$ for a turkey sandwich!?!. It’s just a bad experience all around. And on top of all that you’re paying over 70$ for a round of 18. 50 for a round of 9. It’s just not good, and management needs to make some big time changes because this course in on an ugly downhill slope. Pretty sad that the course 10 minutes from home isn’t even worth playing once a month. I’m disappointed every time I go back.
