Basically you'll be practicing your pitching and chipping. For what it is, it's not bad. But it barely qualifies as golf. Probably ideal for kids or for just an hour of goofing off with golf clubs.

Fun, easy-going course that is perfect for practice and a ZERO STRESS day! So easy to play, practice, and have an easy day out. Also still a fun course for its size. The conditions are rough, but that makes for an added challenge that just helps you build your game. You gotta like the charm of the place to appreciate it a bit more. It's a back to basics, easy golf course. Also have merch available, including a KILLER DEAL on hats! You can’t beat a course located in beautiful Old Town!

It’s a million years old and it’s $12 for like 1200 yards of golf so some of the reviews here are funny to me because if you feel the need to post a negative one afterwards, you also could obviously read them before you go and not be surprised. It is what it is and has been forever if you want to swing some clubs around for an hour or two I still pop over there a couple times a year to support it.

Well first off, the price was $12 per person, so it's fairly cheap and they even have clubs to rent at the clubhouse. The staff manager was super polite and responsive, but informed me that the restrooms weren't operational but gave directions to where the closest ones were. The course is a chip and putt - essentially, you're only bringing an iron and putter. My girl and I chose to bring a 9 iron, 7 iron and putter and shared them together. The greens were okay, but quite a few of them had overgrown or thick grass, which really messes with your putting game. The walk between holes was wet and brutally muddy, as the grass was up past our ankles in a lot of places and we couldn't see if it was wet underneath. Sometimes it felt as though we were playing golf in someone's backyard that hadn't been mowed in weeks. Apart from that, it's located in Old Town, and parking is easy. The grass, while long and terrible in some places for golf, is green and full, and the views around the little course are pretty as well. Would I be back? Maybe. If I'm going to have a drink and screw around for an hour - sure. If I'm trying to practice my chipping game or actually play some golf - no way. 3/5 Thanks guys.

I remember playing this place when I was 10 years old with my dad and thinking, “man, this course kinda sucks”. Now that I'm 20 years older, my opinion hasn't changed much, but I do have more appreciation for what this course is. Great little spot for beginners and kids to learn how to play golf, and for that, it’s worth the low price point. It is a bit sad to see a course with so much heritage be reduced to a mere footnote in the San Diego golf world. However, the course conditions do not merit anything more than that. It would be a respectable little course if some effort was put in, but based on what I have seen over the past couple of decades, it is doubtful to ever see improvement.
