This was our second stay at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa and this time it started well, a little rocky, with a rough check-in experience that, when you're in an area that can reach into the 100+s outside, it makes it even more uncomfortable (the last time we went it was just after the crazy 2023 desert flooding, so we're used to strange starts there). [there is more to the story, but Chris Smith, the Director of Rooms, was very gracious and receptive in understanding some of the headaches we experienced]. Nora was my first contact at check-in. She seemed to take a moment to warm-up but was pleasant and explained in customer service-ese that they'd try to get us in for our early check-in and, while we waited, we could use the pool. Other amazing/awesome/kind/[insert more positive adjectives here] employees we interacted with and definitely made our trip extra special (so much so we extended our trip by two more days despite the rocky start): + Fatima - a server at the main restaurant, Pinzimini. She was extra special because although we got the weekend buffet, she still treated as with great customer service and attentiveness - which is something that really deserves high praise. + Angel and Trey at Pinz and Pints really make the evening happy/sweet hour extra pleasant. They really made us feel welcome and part of The Westin family. They added to our laughter and enjoyment and we truly appreciated them. + Matthew - this dude made running for our food (and jalapenos) look easy and he did it with a smile. + Luis - a server at Pinzimini, also made our morning food service extra special. + Biggest shout-out to the insanely hardworking housekeepers. These individuals were literally cleaning rooms and making sure the rooms were immaculate until well after 10pm over the weekend because of the the unexpected influx of people coming in. I know I'm missing people who also part of the glue to the whole establishment, too - like the pool servers, the bartender at Pinzimini, the individuals working Chef's Secret Window and all the random front desk people I was texting for assistance throughout our stay - thank you to all of you for making our getaway great. Also, can't forget the geese and all the talkative birds around - they make it a wonderfully charming experience, too.

We had such a wonderful experience at The Westin, and it truly started the moment we checked in with Nora. From the beginning, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. While our room was being prepared, she thoughtfully guided us to enjoy the pool and made sure we felt comfortable right away. She took the time to ask what brought us in, and when she learned we were celebrating our anniversary, she made the experience feel even more special. Her recommendations for the bar and restaurant were spot on, and everything she suggested enhanced our stay. What stood out most was how natural and caring her service felt—it never felt routine. Because of Nora, we didn’t just feel like guests, we felt taken care of. She even helped me become a member, which I truly appreciated. We will absolutely be returning, and a big part of that is because of Nora. She made our anniversary stay memorable in the best way.

We decided to give Los Angeles a break and head to the desert, and with little ones, we needed a hotel that truly worked for families. We’ve stayed at vacation‑club style properties before, so we knew what to expect but this hotel exceeded every expectation. The property feels secure with private security on-site, and check‑in was smooth. They honored our room type preference, and parking was easy, mostly covered like a carport, which is a blessing in the desert heat. One thing to note: upstairs rooms don’t have elevator access, but the stairs are manageable. They also have staff available to help with luggage, which was a huge plus. Our premium villa had some normal wear and tear, cracked bathroom tile and a bit of torn carpet, but the space itself was incredible. We had a full kitchen with a dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, plus a washer and dryer. There was a dining room, a living room with a pull‑out sofa, a fireplace, and a TV. The bathroom was huge with a separate toilet, shower, and jet tub. The bedroom had a king bed, another fireplace, and a TV. The best surprise was the oversized balcony stretching from the bedroom to the living room, complete with a patio table, chairs, and even a gas grill. The grill wasn’t clean, but we didn’t plan to use it anyway. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, housekeeping was available daily, and anything we needed was provided quickly. There’s a poolside bar but no full restaurant, which wasn’t an issue since the hotel is close to grocery stores, Walmart, shopping centers, restaurants, Walgreens, and about 20 minutes from Downtown Palm Springs. Our toddler loved the space, we cooked family meals with ease, and having a washer and dryer meant we returned home with clean clothes. The grounds are beautiful, our Villa 36 had a nearby pond, flowing water, trees, and a scenic walkway to the front desk. We had a wonderful stay and are already planning to return next year.

DO NOT let this resort fool you by what seems to be beautiful grounds & a nice lobby/entrance area. The entire place needs a face life and rooms need to be renovated desperately. I’ll start by saying that the first room we were checked into in building 1 room 109, did not have the appropriate weather stripping on the bottom of the door. There was a huge gap and this room had a lot of mosquitos in it. I was bit 3 times by just being in the room for a short time. The front desk Manager named Carlos was SO KIND and helpful and very sweet. He switched our room to building 6 room 635. After the room switch, we dropped our bags and left for dinner. When we first got to the room it was 84degrees and the front desk said it was just warm because it was a hot day but they would send over maintenance anyway. When we got back after dinner around 9:30 there was a fan in our room, the room had only cooled down to 77. But as we stayed there longer it climbed back up 81. A kind gentleman by the name Alejandro who was the maintenance man came over and checked our AC. He recommended we call front desk and ask for a new room because the AC was potentially facing issues. So we call front desk AGAIN, and once again we encounter a very kind person on the phone by the name Daniel. He switched our rooms at 11pm at night and we ended up in building 16, room 1619... once again we packed our belongings AGAIN. Had to load and unload our car…and drive down to another part of the resort. This final room was fine…but after a long day of moving around we just were no longer feeling relaxed or comfortable. This place was a huge let down. The only thing that stood out to us was how great the staff is. From the pool servers to maintenance to the front desk managers and staff…They deserve bonuses and recognition because they are working for a place that faces a lot of issues and they all handled them with so much grace. We will not be recommending this place to people who come and visit. Our kids play tennis here and we used to love the resort feel driving in…but now we got the *real* experience staying here lol I also hope I do not get the generic “thank you for your feedback” response. I did not give staff a hard time or force them to compensate us in anyway because the issues we faced were truly things outside of their control. But oh my gosh was this an awful experience!!

We had a wonderful stay at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa. Francisco Magana checked us in after a long flight. We were exhausted, and he immediately lifted our spirits. He made us laugh, walked us through the hotel layout, and gave us clear direction on where we needed to be the next day for the DMSCA conference. His energy and professionalism set the tone for our stay. The cleaning crew was excellent - thorough, attentive, and consistent. The conference experience was well executed. The food and service were excellent throughout. The resort itself is beautiful. The setting and overall atmosphere made it a memorable stay. We would gladly return.
